RE Composer a fraud!
Re: RE Composer a fraud!
This thread isn't about whether you like the games or not. Pretty sure it's more about this composer's lies. Critiquing the music written (or not written) by this composer would be a lot more valid if you're looking to express an opinion on the series itself.
Re: RE Composer a fraud!
Lol, I actually thought about editing my post to touch on that since I figured that's what you were going to ask next.
I played Resident Evil 4 back in High School and didn't care for its control scheme much as I frequently got frustrated with the inability to sidestep while you have your firearm out. Since then, I've played games like Dead Space and Uncharted which have a similar control scheme, though they allow you to sidestep, so I think I'll give RE4 another chance.

Re: RE Composer a fraud!
It's time for me to come clean.
I have been hiring someone else to post comments on racketboy for me for years. All the while I have been taking sole credit for typing comments in these threads.
I cannot express the mental anguish I feel right now for betraying you. Mainly because the guy I hired to express things for me has quit.

Re: RE Composer a fraud!
That's pretty crazy that he could hide that for nearly 2 decades... I would understand if he hired someone to possibly review his work but to outright compose it? I understand if you love making music and now your body doesn't allow you to do it anymore, the amount of pain and anguish it would cause me, but I don't know if I could allow someone else to make music and then take the credit.
I wonder what would have happened if he went public back then about it, and he and his co-composer became famous together? He would be a better person for it, and a most likely would be more sought after.

I don't really see the big deal. To my understanding, isn't what he did basically the same thing as dictating a letter? The letter might be written by the secretary, but it get's signed under the name of the boss who chose the words in the letter.
Similarly, he had the idea for a song in his head. He told the composer how to do the song, and the composer put together his vision. It seems reasonable to me that his name should go on it.
However, I do think the composer also should be given part of that credit.

I feel old when talking to anyone my age yet too inexperienced to effectively talk to anyone older. Life is grand that way.

Re: RE Composer a fraud!
I think it was more commission someone to write original music without his input at all.
Wikipedia shows a different name so I'm not sure, but I bet he actually composed this timeless classic himself:
edit: oh, people already covered this joke in the comments. dang.
edit2: can't see how people actually prefer the dual shock version's soundtrack when hearing the original versions (like for instance: )

Confusing stuff, because from what I understand these games were made up with several composers. Masami Ueda is one of the bigger ones and you can cross his style from RE2 to DMC. I see several listed for the first game too.
