Wait a second. It all makes sense. It's like the Mayans predicted.
Maybe now Nintendo will acknowledge Metroid has a fanbase?

A sneak peek of the show is also out:

God this is lame. I know it's aimed at young boys, but at least Sonic SatAM was trying.

Also isn't it more popular nowadays to make cartoons ala Spongbob, with jokes for kids but also jokes for adults thrown in them? I think even my 11 year old cousin would be embarassed to be watching this (just as I was at watching the Adventures of Sonic the Hedgehog back in the day, just cause it started sonic).

Actually with the exception of Sonic I really liked them. Mind you I still think the Mega Drive originals were timeless like Mickey Mouse, but since Sega seems to be lacking the wisdom to revert back to them (even after they saw how cool chubby Sonic looked in Sonic Generations), I'd rather have them try some new designs instead :)

Those character designs look really off, not bad, just strange.
The game itself looks really promising.

Turns out we got a few hints quite a while ago.

Check out the beginning of the CryEngine 3 tech demo from last year.

Ugh... Guess I'm the only one not liking the look of it. What was wrong with Sonic Generations? Hell, what was wrong with Sonic Lost World? I would have liked to have seen a sequel to that, with refined gameplay and the flaws/crappiness taken out.

But hey, it's developed by Big Red Button, so it may be good.

I had hopes for the cartoon but that trailer is both badly written and animated.

I don't know why they feel like they need to reinvent the wheel every time they make a new game. If something turns out decent, like Generations did, improve upon it instead of going back to square one.

Exactly! Generations was awesome and I was looking forward to how they expanded on it in the follow up game. Then came Sonic Lost World... Never mind, I thought, I ended up liking it a lot. I hoped they would take the elements that worked and would expand and improve on them in a new game. Nope though. They've gone and tried to change things yet again. And Sonic's friends are back... Oh, joy. I can't wait to see Amy Rose again...
