I went into 2 different shops of the same retailer this saturday, and I found both of these games used:

At 33€ each I think they were expensive for used games in general, but then I thought of the Nintendo premium and the fact that they will never fall in price (specially Mario Kart), so I caved in and bought them.

Funnily enough I thought I would skip this Zelda game, since the series has been quite disappointing for me during the past decade, and I just could never get into Link to the Past.

Boy was I pleasantly surprised. This game blows all the top down Zeldas I've played out of the water (even my favorite one so far, Link's Awakening), and it might even be better than Windwaker (reserving judgment on that till I finish it). I LOVE the overworld, it is so nicely designed and full of things to do. I love the painting ability to solve puzzles, and the fact that you get all the items from the get-go is a BRILLIANT idea that fixes many of my complaints about Zelda.

Mario Kart 7 on the other hand, looks good but I just don't like the control pad for racing controls. It's not as quick as the D-Pad on the original DS (where I played Mario Kart DS the most) or the control stick of the Wii nun-chuck.

I have to admit though, the 3D effect is brilliant on both games, and I never turn it off.

Games Acquired 2014:

3DS:
Mario Kart 7
Legend of Zelda: Link Between Worlds

3DS eshop purchases:

Sonic The Hedgehog 3D

PC:

gog purchases:
Silver

Just bought 10,000,000 from Steam. It's only $0.99 this week, I suggest everyone check it out. It's pretty much Bejewled with some basic RPG mechanics.

A high-score thread is in order, perhaps? I spent a little too much time messing around with the XRGB mini last night, so I didn't get a change to try SDOJ out, but if it's faithful to the arcade version, then I'm excited to be able to play it without a line of Japanese people breathing down my neck.

With those two, I've now "completed" my collection of Cave 360 shmups. (I guess Espgaluda is the only Cave shmup I'm really missing at this point, though.) Happy days.

You know I am always down for a high score thread. If you don't start it, I will!

It is very faithful to the arcade, it even has the overflow glitch. The 360 mode and 1.5 are pretty nice too.

I've played a decent amount of the first one and so far I love it. However, I've heard the second game is far better.
