Here's a handful I put some significant effort into, but failed to complete.

Magical Drop III (Wii - Data East Arcade Classics)
Tough to play while colorblind and it gets really frantic really fast. Still tons of fun though.

Last Resort (PlayStation 2 - SNK Arcade Classics Vol. 1)
Impossible.

Marble Madness (PlayStation 2 - Midway Arcade Treasures)
Can't get that damn ball to roll where I want it to roll!

RoadBlasters (PlayStation 2 - Midway Arcade Treasures)
Really cool driving/battling game, but it gets difficult quite quickly. I think there are 50 levels total and I can't get past level......... 5.

NARC (Xbox - Midway Arcade Treasures 2)
Haven't played this in ages. Last boss is driving me insane. I'll get back to this one later.

It definitely helps to have a trackball like in the arcade. You really lose something without that.

Yeah console controls are always a little iffy.

I actually have a CIB C64 version that I've only played once or twice. May try that one later - sometimes C64 ports are much easier.

Mario and Luigi: Dream Team

I want to like this game but the pacing infuriates me. Nintendo is so insistent on holding my hand through this one that I am giving up out of disgust. Super Mario Bros. was a game that practically pioneered the object of letting the player learn how to play by playing. Ironic that the series would spawn a spin off that won't shut up with text boxes, explanations, and other BS long enough for me to have fun.

Thankfully, this was a pack-in with my 3DS XL so I'm not out anything.
Maybe now Nintendo will acknowledge Metroid has a fanbase?

I just recently finished it and oh man do they hold your hand. With the giant luigi boss fights they literally say (when the person is like this, use this attack) all throughout the game. I did enjoy the gameplay though and pushed myself to finish it, but I can understand how that one aspect can be very frustrating. The game was not hard by any means.

It just kills all the fun for me when games won't let me play. I've got nearly 25 years gaming experience - and I get it, the developers of these games are both proud of what they created and worried that the players will not 'get' it so they want to guide the experience...but I don't need any help pushing the buttons and figuring things out. The game play in the Mario and Luigi series has not gotten any more complicated than it was in the original GBA title but for some reason, the developers feel that players need twice as many explanations. Hell, I think Skyrim trusted me more to figure things out.

My only consolation is that normal enemy combat gets pretty tough and they don't hold your hand much there. Just those big boss fights and the dreamy luigi abilities. Still...the coolest moments are still ruined by telling you what you need to do.

I think I'm dropping Darksiders. Very boring. Started on the harder difficulty too, and yeah. It's kind of buggy and ugly looking too, seems like one that hasn't aged well to me. I dislike the art style. I generally dislike 3D Zelda clones. The music is kind of not there.

Boring.

Another game gets dropped quick: Diddy Kong Racing DS. I got this for a song on ebay and figured I'd run it through its paces and see if it'd be a good game for my step-daughter and I to play. She's been addicted to kart racers since I got her Sonic and Sega All Star Racing for the Wii for her birthday last year.

This game is a total snooze fest. I'd always heard such good things about the Nintendo 64 original and I was really surprised how boring the races are.

Do you know if there was a GBA port of Roadblasters? I love that game.
