My wife is a retrogamer in that she loves Adventures of Lolo, and has two gaming pcs (modern and retro). But her time is usually taken up by her other hobbies of being a seamstress and horsewoman. But on the other side of this, she understands why I love gaming and why it is important to me. So when a candy cab came up at a price I couldnt say no to, she offered to drive all night to get it. And when her friends were moving and offering a free CRT she said we would take it without asking me, because it is better than the one we have right now. This really showed this last weekend when we went to Goodwill and found a proper computer training table for our computer setup that we have been looking for for months, and when I said I was thinking about getting it she said that she was getting the truck because she is going to pay for it just incase I wavered. She knew that if I didnt buy it I would be kicking myself about it right now.

When we game together she is not really competitive (unless it is a boardgame), but thats fine since we really enjoy coop games. We will eventually get through all of the D&D pc games.

My girlfriend is very liberal about my game collecting, she is also a bit of a gamer herself (mostly handcuff and wii games). I always tell her one day I'm gonna sell my collection and we will take a nice long vacation haha

Here is a relevant article about when gaming can destroy or help a relationship.

Interesting, but more importantly, there's a person offering love spells in the comments section.

I made a huge mistake with my girlfriend.. I got her addicted to Dr Mario haha. Now every time she comes she bogarts the NES and tv.. Oh well, at least it has enabled me to spend more time with my Vita!
I am buying all Saturn games, PM me with your offerings and I will let you know if I need the game or not! (Everything must be CIB)

Currently trying to knock off all the sports games, would like to get them <$5 each! Of course if you would like to donate them I will gladly pay the shipping! :)

My wife has always been a person who games. Although, her only experience in gaming was with the Nintendo 64 when she met me, her love for the Zelda and Banjo Kazooie titles opened the door to experiencing other games that she has come to love. For us, we tend to game together, playing co-op games as a team. We enjoy gaming with each other and with our friends and family.

On her own, she still has a desire to beat every canonical Zelda game (sorry CD-i) and has recently found a new love for RTS and Survival Horror games, two genres that I myself am not a big fan of.

We are, of course, without kids at the moment, so we don't really know how games will play a role in our future. I would hope to think that it will stand.

I have to think kids will only help you appreciate video games more. I have my 6 year old cousin over often, and everything is new to him. It's just fun to watch him be amazed by games that are old news to us.

Unless of course, you have a kid who just hates video games. Then we'll discuss that in another thread. "How's Your Kid Feel About Your Gaming?" Anyone?

All our children will rebel against us. They will hate all video games (except for the latest installment of madden) just to spite us.
