I couldn't find this with a quick search, sorry if it's a duplicate.
The last couple of years we've had a thread where we can track games we haven't managed to beat, or have given up on for whatever reason. I was probably the most active participant of that thread admittedly, but I like it, so it's time for 2014's thread.
There's no set format for your posting, although I generally do monthly updates on games I've started but not finished this year as of the end of the month.
Games not beaten:
Mario & Luigi: Dream Team Bros. 3DS
Phantasy Star Online PC
2 additions this month.
Mario & Luigi is fun enough, and well designed as usual, but it doesnt offer enough new and the writing isn't as compelling as other games in the series. It's still good though, just going to be a slow burner for me I think.
PSO was started for Together Retro, but the servers going down for half the month took away all my motivation to beat this one.

Re: Games Not Beaten 2014
I have a couple to list. I'll steal your list format, aj. Too lazy to make my own right now.
Not Beaten
ZombiU - Wii U
Sly Cooper: Thieves in Time - Vita/PS3
ZombiU- What an incredibly boring game. Combat is repetitive because you'll be using the bat almost all the time. Guns are clunky to use and head shots are meaningless because it'll take two or three shots to bring a zombie down. The game also uses the Demon Souls "you died now you gotta go pick your shit back up. Lulz" gimmick- I hate that. Going back to get your stuff is never difficult (you're usually going that way anyway), it just means you have another tedious hit-zombie-with-bat-20-times encounter.
...I was going to write more but screw it. The game sucks and spending more time ranting about it is almost as big of a time waster as the game itself. Moving on.
Sly- I got this game for free. I don't think it's a bad title, I just don't like platformers. Maybe check it out if you like other Sly games? It seems to be a quality game from what I played. I just don't have any desire to play any more.

Not Beaten:
Shenmue(DC)
It just got to the point that I was dragging myself through the game
. Might go back and finish since there is no way I have more then 2-3 hours to go, but the docks have just been such a drag. Game is just so slow and the loader job just gets so freaking repetitive

If you have not played Shenmue before, I can assure you the game picks up speed out of nowhere near the end.Fragems wrote:Not Beaten:

My gaming time has mostly been dedicated to Genesis games, and that will continue.

Re: Games Not Beaten 2014
what kills me about Bioshock Infinite is that you basically just made it to the 16th Colossus and said "eh, I'll finish SOTC some other time..."

That's a good analogy.
I'm putting it off so I have time to enjoy it.

my fear is the longer you put it off, the less you will appreciate it. I plowed through it in a few days, and was just so wrapped up in the story. But if you take such a long break that you're kind of forgetting your emotional attachment, then the ending might not hit you as hard.Luke wrote:noiseredux wrote:what kills me about Bioshock Infinite is that you basically just made it to the 16th Colossus and said "eh, I'll finish SOTC some other time..."
