So what have you guys been watching lately?

Colin Cowherd's Football show is doing a spoof of Seinfeld's Comedians in Cars Getting Coffee, and it is pretty great.

Re: So what have you guys been watching lately?

I picked up a DVD three pack at Goodwill for two dollars. The storytelling still holds up today, and most (not all) of the science still holds as well.
The CG is starting to show its age though. Walking with Dinosaurs came out in 1999. The producers covered up all the CG models of Dinosaurs with blur filters so we can't see all the mistakes on the rendering. I didn't notice this at the time, but when I rewatch the series today on a high-definition television, the blur filter sticks out like a sore thumb. The ferns in the background are in focus and perfectly sharp, but the predator hunting in the ferns is a blurry out of focus blob. I think I'd rather see all the mistakes of the bad CG like my Beast Wars DVDs.
Despite my trivial criticism, Walking with Dinosaurs and the prequel Walking with Monsters are still excellent programming. The word "epic" gets tossed around a lot these days. Watching the first vertebrate crawl onto land and evolve into the most successful array of creatures in the history of earth is the most epic thing I have ever seen on television. I'm having a blast watching these miniseries.

Ugh, just got spoiled on season 1 of American Horror Story, because some stupid asshole writing a review for season 3 doesn't understand that it's an anthology show with stand alone seasons. Something that a person with COMMON FUCKING SENSE would know means that people reading your season 3 finale review may not have seen the first two seasons. Course, the article has a nice spoiler warning, but it's only for season 3, which doesn't prepare you for the season 1 spoiler in the FIRST FUCKING LINE OF THE REVIEW. I grow weary of the stupidity of the human population, particularly in people with jobs that would have you assume that they're intelligent.
Anyway, now that I've gotten that anger out of my system. I'm five episodes into Orphan Black and it's a pretty cool show.
Been diving into season 2 of Grimm as well, and boy it certainly feels like the show gets a bit more serialized and mythology driven with less of the procedural, monster of the week stuff that originally drove me away from the show, which is cool.

I used to watch that too. But now that they say dinos had feathers or somesuch I find it harder to believe 99.999% of material covering dinosaurs

Btw, is (are?) Tales from the Crypt worth revisiting?

Why is that hard to believe? It's known that birds are descendants of dinosaurs.

It definitely is more of an arc now, with monster of the week being a little less the focus. I haven't watched any past the break in this season, but I love that show.

I have been watching season 3 of Sherlock and can honestly say it is one of the few series that I thoroughly anticipate each week with excitement. A lot of people enjoy it for one reason or another, be it for the mystery, acting or like many people I know, the thorough infatuation with Benedict Cumberbatch (which god help me, I can not understand).
For me, the show is just pure entertainment. I love the atmosphere, the mystery and the character it exudes. Sure, the series isn't perfect, but I don't mind the shortcomings because in the end, it leaves me smiling and excited.

Tonight's Almost Human has shed some more light into the backstory of the world. There's something called The Wall, and whatever's beyond it is considered some kind of hellhole. I'm definitely feeling shades of Judge Dredd here, which is appropriate for a show starring Karl Urban. I suspect we won't be seeing it again until near the season finale.

Watched the final two-parter of Star Trek: Voyager. I dunno, seemed a bit lame. Janeway seems reasonably untroubled that her future self has broken some of the federations core beliefs just to save a few people. I like the aspect where they beat the Borg, but could they not have done it with the help of some of the species they met in the delta quadrant rather than a time travelling dues ex machina? Also reminded me how much I hate B'Lanna and Neelix.
