Best DS Colour?

I still believe that White DSLite is the best option. Just like a white car, you can hardly see any scratches on it.
Re: Best DS Colour?
I'm going to recommend any color other than black - or onyx or whatever the hell it's called. I'd had mine for over a year and I've always hated the way every single fingerprint is visible on the outside case. It seems like I'm constantly wiping off fingerprints, but I'm a little more obsessive-compulsive than most when it comes to my stuff.
(On a similar note: Has anyone else noticed that the regular black N64 seems to collect dust at a higher rate than other consoles? Maybe it's the dark color, I guess, but it still annoys the piss out of me.)
Also, DO NOT put those stupid screen protectors on it. I made the mistake of doing it when I first bought the DS and it was a bitch to get them off along with all the sticker goo left afterward.

Crimson & Onyx. Better known as red and black.
I don't know what screen protector you used, but you would be doing the forum a favor by letting everyone know the brand. I've never had a screen protector leave any sort of residue, so we should all avoid whatever you bought.

An all-matte Black DS would probably look really nice (and not be that bad against fingerprints, although I think some people mind those too much
).
The black in the Crimson and Cobalt DSs is Matte (non-shiny).

It was actually the official Nintendo screen protectors. They were included with the stupid DS starter kit I purchased along with the DS. The kit included a soft DS case, a few extra styluses, some terribly uncomfortable headphones, DS game cases, and a car battery charger.RackGaki wrote:I don't know what screen protector you used, but you would be doing the forum a favor by letting everyone know the brand. Also, my screens were not completely covered with residue. It was actually only the corners where the screen protector adheres to the screen itself. But the corners of the lower screen were really hard to clean because of the raised edge along the screen.
Still, it wasn't nearly as bad as when I recently had to remove one of those old Nintendo Power controller sticker/cover things that I put on my SNES controller as a preteen. That was about 15 years worth of sticker goo to clean! On the bright side, it DID protect the controller from a lot of damage.
But still, you'd think I would have learned my lesson after that...

Re: Best DS Colour?
I bought the Cobalt blue and love it, but color preference is a really a personal thing. i don't think any color can be "better" or "worse" than another, unless there's some sort of manufacturing defect in the paint unique to one color.
Comics, RPG's, miniatures, and now retrogaming? I guess its time to learn to go without eating...

Re: Best DS Colour?
When I got the PSP I went with black. I don't regret it, but the fingerprints are indeed annoying. I find out recently that a relative is getting me a DS for Xmas. At first I was upset that is was the silver one, but I don't think I need TWO portables covered in visible fingerprints all the time. Silver would have been my second choice anyway. I bet there's some kind of skins I can get somewhere to put on it that would give a black color.Ivo wrote:An all-matte Black DS would probably look really nice (and not be that bad against fingerprints, although I think some people mind those too much).

As for screen protectors, I hear Hori makes the best ones. I have a Gamestop one on my PSP.

Indeed, those are clearly the best. Reduced glare, easy to clean, easy to replace (although I never have), no loss in sensitivity on the touch pad. I've had them on for over 2 years, played tons of Ouendan, Ninja Gaiden and a few others that require a ton of input with the stylus and there are NO visible marks.Gamerforlife wrote:

Seriously, buy them.
