Loved the Coca~Cola ad.

Also noticed the biracial family that caused a stir was back in another Cheerios commercial.

Frown: Since the wife was home almost all of last week, I goofed off a bit and am paying for it today. But deadlines will be promptly met, so no worries.

Smile: Tightening the belt since our spending habits have been a bit, well, stupid lately. Some might find writing a budget as tedious and boring, but I live for the tedious and boring when it comes to work.

So as a challenge, I placed a twenty five dollar budget for groceries, per week. The budget is for two people, with plans of having left overs. So what will I be eating this week on such a tight budget?

M- "Potless" Pot roast (roasted fresh veggies on a bed of egg noodles topped with beef gravy)

T- Sweet potato, chipotle, black bean chili

W- French Toast, poached eggs, and fruit salad

T- Roasted Carrot soup with homemade french bread

F- Vegetable stir fry on white rice

Sat- Pasta Primavera

Sun- Chili Dogs with red potato "fries" (you gotta eat some junk once a week)

My big concern about eating on the cheap was mainly being sure we'd eat healthy. With the exception of hot dogs, we'll be eating very healthy.

We're also thinking about cutting out cable. Almost all of my friends use hulu, netflix, and youtube for their viewing needs. And no exaggeration, I do have a box of over one hundred dvd's that I haven't watched.

Frivolous spending is starting to tick me off, and I had to set some ground rules. I'm fine with "Spend what you earn" but my wife doesn't need a dozen pair of Tom's shoes.

Yeah, MSNBC has already had to issue an apology for using it to attack Republicans.

Please tell us how you plan to prepare some of these. I'm especially interested in your plans for Tuesday and Thursday.

Thank God they switched their marketing team. When they went to "The Shack" no one noticed, and no, Radio Shack isn't hip and cool as they tried to brand the store.

"We're an ollllld company" is a perfect image for Radio Shack. To even be alive as an electronics store in a MALL is incredible.

Surely. I'll post updates on the "eating" thread.

Smile: Going to have one of our member's art in an upcoming exhibit. Cool stuff.

Coca~Cola and Radio Shack did a damn fine job. I was a bit disappointed by Steven Colbert's Wonderful Pistachio commercial. He could have done better. I liked the Jaguar "English Villain" commercial a lot.

Here's a youtube page with most of the good commercials in one place.

The game sucked. The half-time show sucked. The commercials sucked. I don't think I'll even bother watching it next year.
I thought the half-time show was pretty good actually. Certainly better than the Black-eyed Peas.

:( My computer was having some intense issues. Programs were taking 15-30 minutes to load and when I tried to copy/paste/move/delete/rename a file, it would look like I hadn't done anything to it, but when trying to access it from the original location it would say it wasn't there. It would only move when I restarted my computer.

:( Took, me a couple hours to find someone with a similar problem on-line, but no one had an answer.

:D Found one clue, followed it to the end and it did in fact fix my problem, albeit it took me having to pour over a bunch of text that, to me, was gibberish.....stupid hash mismatch.

:( My Sega CD has long since been dead, so I went to emulate Sherlock Holmes consulting detective only to find that it isn't working on my emulator. (although it is clean and in working order.)

This scares the jebeesus out of me as my Sega CD (ver 1.0.1) is still kicking and has never given me grief.

Holmes is great. Play it (all chapters of course), beat it, forget about it for a year or two, and relive some pretty neat mysteries.

Mine was never well taken care of and was inherited from one of my older brothers (as is the majority of my collection). I love Holmes, but I never played the other case files that came out (were they even released on Sega CD?). Why do I love it? Was one of the first things we received and it was FMV, which I thought was the coolest thing at the time.

Using Kega Fusion. It goes to the sega logo and then jumps right back to the loading screen. Other games work just fine, except for this and Prize Fighter.
