I disagree - a great defense can make any team look terrible. I think the Seahawks played GREAT defense, good enough offense, great special teams, and that the Broncos' "terrible football" was more a credit to the Seahawks defense than a fault of the Broncos' offense.
I agree. I think the great Seahawks D made some huge plays and then just rattled thr Broncos. They were knocked off their game. I would argue that is the best Seattle has played all year, they really showed up when they needed to most.

I still say the Broncos played lousy. Sure, Peyton's qb rating stunk, but he did throw for nearly 300 yards. The Broncos D also stunk, allowing almost an average of five yards per carry. We all knew that Seattle would have to win offensively on the ground, and the Broncos allowed successful run after successful run.

Not claiming to be a football expert, but the Broncos sure did telegraph every play on both offense and defense.

Were we watching the same game? Seattle's running game is about the only thing the Broncos did do to stop the offense. Lynch had less yards rushing than Percy.

Well I guess all that talk about "offense sells tickets, defense wins championships" isn't gonna stop any time soon.

Sometimes you need to backpedal a bit.

A bit.

I stand by "Broncos played lousy". They made mistakes that athletes in high school rarely make and it wasn't all due to Seattle's defense.

While watching the game, at least until the fourth quarter, I kept thinking "The Broncos can still win this". Obviously they didn't but every play was a reminder after reminder of how bad they were playing.

Credit is due to the Seahawks D and they were much better than "okay". My mind was drifting about a bit after staring at a computer screen for hours and I thought "They held them to eight points. Eight points. Weren't the Broncos scoring about sixty points a game or something crazy close to that? Eight points. Impressive."

The Lions are in a exclusive club of being 1 of 4 teams to never make a Superbowl and the even more super exclusive club of their own as being the only non expansion team to not make the Superbowl. 1 playoff win in 57 years as well. Go Wings!

If you would have told me in 1999, that the Seahawks, Bucs and Saints would all win a Super Bowl before the Bills, I would have laughed you off- citing a far more impressive list of futility that those franchises possessed at the time, when compared with the Bills...

Oh how a decade+ of just the worst shit ever will change your perspectives

Even the wings are starting to let us down, but I still stand strong in their support. It is a dark day in Detroit, that is for sure.
