I haven't played it yet but it definitely appears to be right down my alley. Also judging by the footage I've seen it looks like it was unfairly shat on.BurningDoom wrote: This game is one of the best games I've played this generation (is it still current-gen, or last gen officially now?). I had this happen to me today. When I asked her to switch the GH with a black label and she gave me a little look as if to say "are you serious?". I mean is it really that hard to turn around and pick out another case?wclem wrote:then I bought some games and had to bitch at the clerk who rang me up for trading out a regular game for a greatest hits. Had to explain I was collector and not just an asshole LOL.

haha... you guys are not alone!! I can't tell you how many weird looks I get when this happens... I bring them an original box... and they turn around and hand me a shitty Greatest hits version case.... I've litterally had one girl argue with me about how there supposed to keep the better cases for display... I told her "are you kidding me?... i shop here all the time... I'm a collector"... stupid assholes have no respect i tell ya!
I shouldn't have to prove an arguement over what i spend my money on. On an other occasion, I remember one kid going... "can i ask you something.... why do you care if it's greatest hits or not... It's the same game."... I then play my collector card of course. Seriously though... people just don't understand.

The fact that it was an IP revival and that they had already done a more faithful revival with Rearmed kind of made people judge it harshly.GSZX1337 wrote:I haven't played it yet but it definitely appears to be right down my alley. The game certainly isn't a masterpiece or anything but it's decent and worth a look.

That is absolutely ridiculous considering how Gamestop tosses out cases and accepts tradeins disc only with no reduction of the trade in value. That employee certainly was not taking care of the customer.retromangia wrote:I bring them an original box... and they turn around and hand me a shitty Greatest hits version case.... @ retromangia - Agree wanting to match the disc to the case, but a point to consider. So many value the black label as the rare version. When you think about it a Greatest Hits only comes out after tons of the Black Labels are sold, so that Greatest Hits just might be the more uncommon game years later?
Some Greatest Hits titles also have additional features and levels not available on the original release. On the other hand though not as often, there are a few original releases that have content removed on the Greatest Hits version.
At least its only two versions you have to research on, unless you start compiling the features of imports or all the special editions. This can get as bad as trying to find the best home release of a movie.

its ironic though that this gen (last?) the Greatest Hits versions are actually better and worth more because they often have all the DLC included on the disc, so I often ask for the greatest hits version haha.

Then again, they don't have to sell the black label to you.retromangia wrote:I shouldn't have to prove an arguement over what i spend my money on. On an other occasion, I remember one kid going... I'm largely the same way, though. I have absolutely no greatest hits or GOTY games unless there's some substantial difference. Off the top of my head, I think I the only greatest hits I have is Fable Lost Chapters. I just like how nice and even everything looks. Bomber Raid and New Super Mario Bros Wii stick out like a sore thumb.
I even picked out Mortal Kombat Komplete on the 360 because the PS3 version is a red label. Ick.

But If I bring a black label up to check out then they must.o.pwuaioc wrote:Then again, they don't have to sell the black label to you.
@ninjainspandex
Not all GH have extra stuff though. I generally don't care but if it's GH or not but if the option is available I prefer black label.

Nope, not even then. I've had the aggravating experience of getting a scratched up GH disc in my pristine black label box way too many times.oxymoron wrote:But If I bring a black label up to check out then they must.o.pwuaioc wrote:Then again, they don't have to sell the black label to you.

If you get in the technicalities what I bring to the counter is what I intend of purchasing.BoringSupreez wrote:Nope, not even then.
