1. King of Fighters R-2 (NGPC)
2. Dead or Alive 2 (Limited Edition) (DC)
3. Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Turtles In Time (PS2)
4. Metal Gear (PS2)
Metal Gear took me about 6 hrs and I loved it hard. SO so good. I've been on the brink of being a Metal Gear fan for a couple years now, but that's it. Done. I'm a fan. This series is so badass. Wow.
I admit that the fight against Metal Gear itself required me to look at a FAQ. The whole "code" at the end of Left/Right threw me off, making me think I had missed a detail. This game is pretty oblique at times though not nearly as difficult to decipher as say Zelda, a contemporary. Definitely I did need to check maps from time to time, but I didn't feel as hopelessly dependent upon them.
Everything was great though. The music, the graphics, the weapons the progression. Just completely amazing. I think I'm gonna tackle MGS Bleemed next.

You used an emulator I'm assuming?GSZX1337 wrote:Sol-Feace - X68000
I played this just to see what it was like compared to the Genesis version (Sol-Deace) I've previously played when suddenly I got to the fourth stage. When I got to it I hooked up a controller (was previously using the keyboard) and went on to beat the rest of the game. If you want, you can consider this a game tentatively beaten since I used save states on the last stage. The game gives you unlimited continues until the final stage. If you get a game over on the final stage, your sent back to the fifth stage when you continue. That's a real dick move, so I decided to save state at the beginning of the sixth stage.
This game looks really neat, I have it for Sega CD but have never played it.

whuuut? I adore Sol-Feace. Play it, Bone. Now. It's such an old-school hori-shooter, but it was like the first one to grab me. Mostly cuz of the anime intro. I remember feeling at the time that the Sega CD was so worth owning cuz of that intro hahahaha. The music is legit though. I still love that game - nostalgia probably being a big part.BoneSnapDeez wrote:This game looks really neat, I have it for Sega CD but have never played it.

To elaborate, when I say "I have it on Sega CD but have never played it" I really mean it's the last Sega CD game I bought. Like 3 months ago or something. It hasn't been collecting dust since '92 or whatever.
Unfortunately I don't have tons of room to keep all my systems hooked up so I tend to "rotate" them. I do plan on diving into Sol-Feace later this year along with some other Sega CD titles (like Popful Mail).

Finally beat Lords of Thunder for the good ol' Turbo, the last time I attempted it I got obliterated at the final boss, but I persevered and I finally beat it! (Also known as buying an elixer before the final fight this time around)
Anyways, can't wait to try my hand at hard mode!
Next up is Gates

Why would you not go on to Metal Gear 2 next? I hear it adds a lot over the original.

I played Metal Gear 2 after the first one (both this past weekend), and it really does add a lot. I think I'm going to play MGS3 next, since despite owning two copies of MGS on PS1, and the PC version, I felt like ordering Twin Snakes to play instead and it's not here yetalienjesus wrote:noiseredux wrote: Everything was great though. mainly because I recently got a copy of the Bleemcast disc and wanted a reason to check it out. I'll prob give MG2 a go as well though.alienjesus wrote:noiseredux wrote: Everything was great though. You can't skip Snake's Revenge!
Re: Games Beaten 2014
I'm confused, as I usually get when you guys talk Metal Gear.
So noise beat the NES, Ultra made game Metal Gear on his PS2? And now he's moving on to play Metal Gear Solid via bleemcast and is skipping Snake's Revenge?
