What was the last movie you've seen?
Re: What was the last movie you've seen?
I'm not a huge comics/DC/Superman fan, but even I know that casting Jesse Eisenberg as Lex Luthor is just a poor, poor choice. Jeremy Irons as Alfred could be good though.

Maybe he's playing a young Lex Luthor in a flashback or origin scene?Wispmage wrote:I'm not a huge comics/DC/Superman fan, but even I know that casting Jesse Eisenberg as Lex Luthor is just a poor, poor choice. Jeremy Irons as Alfred could be good though.

He's a bit too expensive for that. He's Luthor.BurningDoom wrote:Maybe he's playing a young Lex Luthor in a flashback or origin scene?

English, since the dialog's in English.RCBH928 wrote:You saw it dubbed in English or subtitled?REPO Man wrote: Just... WONDERFUL! INCREDIBLE!
One of the best films I've seen in ages.
Basically, the story, which is a more in-depth version of the one told by the album of the same name, follows a dying composer named Tom who, on his deathbed, revisits his youth, albeit in a more twisted and often nightmarish light.
Re: What was the last movie you've seen?
Recently checked out two movies from the lending library at the Cast Center at Disney's Hollywood Studios. Theirs and the one over at EPCOT is quite extensive (though not completely), as opposed to the comparably meager offerings in the Cast Center at Typhoon Lagoon.
This was one of them:

Still one of my fave movies of all-time.
Still needs to be adapted into a Broadway show.
Still haven't watched the other movie I checked out, which BTW was one of the few Studio Ghibli films they had. I'm not saying which one until I post it here. I can keep movies I checked out for up to 7 days, though I'm trying to watch both so I can take them back (I can return them at any Cast Center, and I work at EPCOT in about 13 hours) and get two new movies.

Phillip Seymour Hoffman dead. Big time frown.

Saw Frozen recently. Cute film. The musical numbers were very hit or miss (I could have done without the troll song entirely), but overall I really liked it.
Re: What was the last movie you've seen?
I agree although I feel that the troll song gets better with repeated viewings. But Let It Go and Do You Wanna Build A Snowman (or whatever it's called) are of another caliber.

Re: What was the last movie you've seen?
Last night, my wife and I watched:

Dead Man's Burden (2012). As a fan of the western genre, I had been looking forward to watching this film ever since it earned very solid reviews from a variety of sources, including the New York Times and AVClub. When I realized last week that it was written and directed by the man who recently married one of my best friends from law school, I made viewing it a priority. (My wife and I had him and his wife over last month, and I really wish that he had mentioned the fact that he wrote and directed this film during their visit.) I was not disappointed. Dead Man's Burden is a very strong and - perhaps more importantly - original western that exceeded my expectations and kept me enthralled all the way to its shocking conclusion. Moreover, it was beautifully shot; the characters were well-developed, and the actors all gave very strong performances. Accordingly, I highly recommend it to any fans of the western genre regardless of the fact that it was written and directed by one of my acquaintances.
(Also, it is available for streaming on Netflix; so, those of you with the service can watch it instantly.)
