Exactly, the A board is consolized w/AV and AC out, and controller inputs (USB / 360 / PS3 support).
I'll pm you on the other part, it's a bit of long answer.

This is an absolutely awesome topic. I have an old "A" Board that my Dad and I used years ago, but he sold all of our "B" boards. Now that I'm off on my own, I might have to look into a consolized CPS2. I'd be really interested in any information on that, mjmjr.
Plus; those "B" boards are just the cutest things ever.

Delicious stuff, here is my current list
Cyberbots GREEN
Marvel VS Capcom BLUE
Street Fighter Alpha 2 BLUE
Super Puzzle Fighter II Turbo BLUE
Super Street Fighter II Turbo GREY conversion to blue board specs from my buddy 300 wins as a wedding gift
I shortly managed to now own three A boards with only one cab...
I also am wanting a blue or green pocket fighter if anybody finds one for a decent price.

Nice so far I have
Marvel vs Capcom USA Blue
Marvel vs Street Fighter USA blue
Aliens vs Predator USA blue Pheonixed on the way
I'd love to get
the Dungeons and Dragons games
Street Fighter Alpha/Zero 3
Armored Warriors
Street Fighter 2 Turbo
This is my setup, sadly I only have a neo geo cab but this supergun was custom made for me with my choice of saturn inputs. I much prefer fighters with a pad but for beatem ups and other arcadey games I do have a custom Saturn Arcade stick.

I use an XRGB-mini to convert the RGB 240p signal to a nice 720p signal that looks great on my TV with scanlines. It took awhile to get the color and saturation right but fiddled with the setting and got it looking quite nice with my CPS2 boards. I need to figure out if there are programmable buttons on the remote that let me preset settings because they are different between my MVS 1 slot, Cps2 and home consoles.

That picture is too good, Clifton. One of these days I need to buckle down and just put the money out for an XRGB.
@Brad, i'll shoot you a pm later today, i'm making an order w/one of the JP shops this week and i'll see which one currently has the best price on Pocket Fighter.
@Kidfresh, Brian G, aka "undamned" is doing the CPS2 Consolization Project, as memory serves it is $400, but if you supply the A board, he'll knock $25-30 off. (he's also buying dead A boards for parts, if you have any). He is on shmups, neo and SRK that I know of, here is his primary SRK thread about the project.

This is an awesome topic. Thanks for posting, MJ. It answered a bunch of questions I wanted to asked, but I have one more.
How easy is it to source an A board?

pretty easy depending on how much your willing to pay, don't pay the $80+ prices people are selling for on ebay, often you can get them for around $50 shipped sometimes a little less down to the mid to high 30s. Your best bet is try to make a deal with someone your trying to buy a B board from, especially if your buying a bunch a boards you could get them to include a nice A board for way less.fvgazi wrote:This is an awesome topic. Fox1 on Neo-geo.com sometimes does massive group buys from a dealer in japan and thats a good time to get some A boards, I hope he does another soon I'd like another A board myself. It's probably a good idea to have more than 1 A board to troubleshoot a problem and decide if the problem lies with your A or B board. Also its nice to have a dedicated A board for one of your most played games, less risk of accidentally bending a pin from changing it so often.
I have to change the fan in my A board to a quieter modern fan model, anyone have experience with that modification? Whats the exact fan model I need and where can I order? There were a few threads i found discussing it but they were from a few years ago and the links they gave were no longer in stock.

Roger (300wins) on the Neo boards replaced the fan in my super turbo before giving it to me. You could send him a pm. He is a great personal friend of mine back home and a wealth of knowledge!ninjainspandex wrote:pretty easy depending on how much your willing to pay, don't pay the $80+ prices people are selling for on ebay, often you can get them for around $50 shipped sometimes a little less down to the mid to high 30s. I can order some A boards, but there about $50 to yr door right now, as Ninja said, the best bet is to look on ebay and just buy a game you want that has the A board thrown in. People gouge when someone is looking for just an A board.
As for an A board price, $25-30 plus shipping is fair.

A: I'm proooobably going to get in touch with RGB and get a supergun first, just for more versatilitymjmjr25 wrote:Have you ordered one of Brians' Consolized units? If not, get hold of him now...I contacted and got a build (#54) in the works. It was ordered early November with build date of end of January, he got hold me a couple days ago and said it'll be closer to early March. If you order one now, yr probably about 5-6 months out.
Also, OP mostly complete, unless there are specific questions...
B: I did get in touch with him, but I had a couple requests for customization for it and he said he can't do that (which was understandable) and suggested I wait until he's selling the pieces separately, then I could probably find someone else to put it together for me for about the same price with the customizations I was looking for.
But I do appreciate the heads up.
