i hate that aspect of the collecting community more than anything else. i don't know why we are de facto required to sell games way below market value at a loss of potential profit when there is obviously someone out there willing to pay the market price (and they should, because it is, in fact, the market price).

that said, i'm all about hooking up homies and such with discounted prices if the games are found at a great price to begin with, but i dislike the fact that it just seems that if you don't do this for everyone, you're a flipper and an asshole.

this isn't directed at you personally, mike, btw. i see what you're saying and i agree with it, i just don't like it.

The issue, I believe, steams from those people that'll clear out an inventory because they're only in it for profit. My example would be the Kirby Annivsary Pack that sold for about $8 a few months ago from Best Buy. People would buy up all the stock and resell it at market value. If i wasnt going to buy it from a retailer at $50 then what makes you think that I'm going to buy it from you at $45?

I understand finding the occasional double and selling to make money on that, but for the 'BUY ALL THE STOCK!' crowd, it's unsporting

I got an Xbox and GameCube console only for $25, not the best deal but I needed a GameCube and Xbox for the new modchips I got. Everything is 50% off the first Saturday of the month.

Got these on trade at my local record store. He always carries a few games and lately has been picking up more. I brought in a laser disc player and a stack of around 15 movies for the trade. I bought about 85 movies and a player this fall for 40.00. I kept 90% of the movies. He gave me 55 in trade value and i have 35.00 left after the above games, so... I'm ahead. Good deals all around.

Yeah the hard thing about reselling is figuring out a price that doesn't offend anyone and yet has room for profit.

I've done a couple different things in the past like 25-33% off VGPC prices with fixed pricing and stuff like that. However buying so much stuff kind of left me with a massive inventory :P. So I'm now planning to stick mainly with eBay auctions with starting prices around what I paid for stuff and a discounts for RB members. That way I don't have to guesstimate a fair price and I don't drown in my excess stuff :P.

As for finding $50 stuff for $2 I'm the type of guy that loves finding deals but if I find something insanely cheap I will actually offer more to the seller or balance out the deal by buying some of their other stuff that I would normally pass over. Most of the time that works in your favor I have a lot of good contacts at the fleas and pawns in the areas thanks to doing just that. However it can bite you in the ass if you aren't careful. On more then one occasion I have offered over sticker price on stuff I was excited about only to get home and find a copy of (insert generic sports game) inside the case/box or to find the disc is horribly deformed in some way :P.

As I said earlier, I got the Neo Geo X Gold Edition for roughly $77USD.

EBGames, trying to get rid of stock also had the Mega Pack (which included the 5 game packs on the one card) for roughly $22USD, which is really cheap. The problem was only like 5 stores within 500KM had stock.

I phoned up one we would be passing through on the way home from another state and I was told they could not hold sale stock, we rolled through the next day and they had sold it. In the end I assumed I could not get it, was pretty shattered, but life goes on.

Fast forward a few days, I am at work and get this image sent to my from my girlfriend.

Despite their website stating they had no stock within like 4 hours driving distance, she phoned every store starting with the closest and moving out until she found a store about 25miles out and drove out and got it for me. What a legend!

Thanks for making me feel all awkward about following your story with a regular ass purchase, emwearz. Lucky jerk— Wish I weren't so happy for you.

Got a PS Vita today, brand new, for a cool hundy. (Minus one penny. Not that I was counting.)

I picked up a complete copy of Class of Heroes PSP for $10. The reviews portray it as a hardcore dungeon crawler but it's an Atlus title so if I don't like it I should be able to get rid of it fairly easily.
Right now seems to be a pretty good time to find quality or slightly rarer PSP games at decent prices. They aren't so old that they're pricey and they're available in the wild.

THIS - I love reading any finds, who cares if they are percieved as "shovelware". Maybe that one junk game might actually be decent once the levels are explored.

@ Fragems - NICE FINDS! By all means, please keep posting everything with the beautiful pics. Always a great read, finding out about another game that I did not know about.

I have been interstate visiting my girlfriends family, I walked into the EBGames and they had one, but priced at $289, I asked him to check the price and it was mis marked, so I grabbed it, if for all else to have the controller to use on my PC.

The handheld itself is pretty average and not something I will most likely ever use, but when in the dock with the arcade stick (which feel a bit 'lighter') than the originals, but still decent at the low price I paid, it is pretty good. The audio emulation is pretty horrible and the controls seem to be delayed on some games, but I have read the firmware update (which you get from purchasing any of the game packs) fixes these issues.

They currently have the Collection #1 (which is usually $100 and has all the games released up to this point on it) for $25, none have stock near where I am or where I live, but a few do in towns that we cross to get home, so hopefully I can pick one up on the way home.

Emulation is usually not my thing, but these are just a nice little novelty, similar to an Atari Flashback, at the right price they are awesome, at the retail price, they are a fairly large rip off.

 WOW!! I checked over in the U.S. side at Gamestop and they retail at $199.00 looks like still the full price here. Crazy thing is even Target and Wallymart shows it at their sites, definitely keeping an eye when they go clearance. The PC, Dreamcast emulated versions and even the various Metal Slugs re-released on the Playstation are decent with good sounds, but would like to try the games close to the original console.

Please post a very in depth review with pics, really curious about this remake of probably the most expensive home console.
