Can we use save-states?

Also, I think every version with a different name should have a different board. There are obvious advantages/disadvantages to playing a game with a shorter/longer name.

There, I think that covers it

Starting next month, I'm gonna lay all this crap to rest. I'll find out everything about autofire, defaults, and versions so we won't have to dedicate 5 pages to talk about it.

Here's the defaults I found on the arcade version and Taito Legends 2:

Difficulty: Normal
Extend: 1 Million
Autofire: On
Lives: 3

That covers that. Autofire is default across all regions, so have at it.

The Saturn versions will be on a separate scoreboard due to discrepancies and settings varying wildly across the versions. Go with your version's defaults for now and we'll see how it plays out.

Also, the last digit of scores may be slightly different if playing on TL2. That's a problem I came across. The final digit does NOT stay at 0 when playing the version on TL2, so it may look like continues have been used. That is NOT the case. The arcade version's last digit remains at 0.

Carry on then.

Hey Exed, were you able to find out why Rayforce on the PC port of TL2 is banned for score? (On the shmups forum high score thread at least)

Not that I expect many people to be playing this version, just curious.

Weird that the version I was playing didn't have auto fire as defaults. Maybe it did and I was just tapping like a fool the whole time

Because of what I just said -- on TL2's Rayforce, enemies give 101/102 pts per kill.

Check that out on our original Rayforce thread. I don't think it should be banned, but who has TL2 on the PC besides me, really? (the copy protection is abysmal) I'll be playing on MAME anyway. It's easier to use my X-Arcade stick on.

Ah, gotcha. On the shmups high score thread, they only banned the PC port, so I was wondering if there was an issue specifically with this release that separates it from the console release (Which is directly compared to the arcade release in their board).

I don't think this has to be run like a competitive board, so I'm fine with leaving the PC port in. I just like to learn this stuff, I have a weird obsession with useless shmup knowledge.

Something surely needs banning. We already let auto-fire slide in, soon we will have nothing left to do, other than... playing the game

(I should have specified, I meant the TL2 console port, not the Saturn one)

Am I allowed to play w/a partner (player 2) who bombs every time I might die?
