I'm just waiting patiently for them to make a game that uses the wii remotes or the game pad efficiently....like a Mario Sunshine Sequel........trust me...it would work.

As for why there isn't Gamecube games may well be an unknown hardware issue. I don't know why it is taking them so long to put out games on the virtual console, but these latent releases must mean there is something that is slowing the process. Also hard drive space could be a culprit, since the WiiU does not hold much and the average consumer my not understand how to use an external hard drive (crazy I know, but it is true).

As for the gamepad having purpose...it does, but I feel that it requires people to develop games in a new and different way. If things do not conform to the standard method of game design, it is cheaper to just not work with it... a mindset, that I disagree with greatly.

But that doesn't matter now, the Wii U needs all the help it can get, and this is a start, as long as they do a better job with the DS Virtual Console than they are with the Wii U Virtual Console (which isn't saying much).

Now gimme some Bangai O Spirits on the big screen, plz?
I would buy a DS player add-on, but I can't really see myself rebuying DS games on VC.

I actually consider this a slap in the face to all those people who paid 39.99 for new DS games not that long ago - if Nintendo is just going to release all these virtually a few years down the road at heavily discounted prices, why the hell bother paying forty bucks for a new game at all?

Not only have they not mentioned prices, isn't that the normal anyway?

Why buy any game new when you can just wait until the system is defunct? Hell, why not just wait till you can emulate and not pay anything? Not to mention the fact that the DS is actually portable and the Wii U is a set-top console and not a portable.

Slap in the face? Seriously? Have you not seen how much prices drop on a lot of games within a few months after release? Heck, I bet a lot of these VC DS games will be sold for more than you can find carts for. And that's fine with me. I don't own a Wii U anymore but am very happy to see DS games are going to be coming to it.

Yeah, srsly. A slap in the face is buying Gran Turismo 6 day one and having the game drop to $39.99 later that month.

Not a handheld fan, so it's interesting news to me.

Either way I agree with some others that they aren't effectively exploiting the VC at all. Do they really expect the Wii U to be around for that long? (I do, but I'm talking like ~5 eyars from now). They could easily release 1 new game per console up to the GC or something per month at least and still not even cover everything after a few years worth.

I seriously hope they somehow work the Wii VC shop and all into one thing with the Wii U shop, but I doubt it. I still think that's incredibly sloppy.
