I vote micro also, and I have somewhat big hands. Which, coincidentally, is why I detest the SP. My fingers get all fumbled up behind the little beastie and can never seen to find a comfortable place to rest. The original holds a place in my heart, but the lack of a backlight and homicidal tendencies towards AA batteries make it kind of impractical, nostalgia aside. Plus, the micro looks unbelievably sexy. The shoulder buttons do take a little getting used to and it sort of sucks to lose GBC and GB support, but I have a Game Boy Color for that  .

It's also worth noting that link play is hellish with the micro. It does not feature the usual GBA link slot and the necessary cords are only available from Nintendo. This means that if you want to use a flash cart, you'll need to get one that doesn't use the GBA's link slot. Most newer and higher end carts will be compatible, so that shouldn't be too much of an issue.

I recommend holding each one for a bit before you make your decision. I was near ready to fall and pick up the SP when they came out, but then went over to a friend's and tried his out. I HATED it.

I, like everyone else, gave the micro nothing but crap for years. When I tried it out though, I fell completely in love. In fact, after messing with mine, my three closest friends went out and got their own. All of us had the original GBA and two even had the SP. I recommend the Famicom/20th anniversary edition, by the way. It's gorgeous.

And the winner is, drum roll please tttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttt (that's all I could think of for a drum roll) GBASP.

I walked into the same store this morning and saw sitting on the shelf a pretty little red GBA micro. Grabbed it took it home and started to play only to find that the A button was fooked.Went back and exchanged it for a blue SP. The SP's screen is rubbish compared to the micro (albeit quite a bit bigger). And the lack of a proper headphone jack is kinda dissapointing. But ces't la vie. At least I finally got my Gameboy.

The only way to deactivate the ray beam and fight back the vampire alien threat is with a complicated series of foot patterns on the device's control board that looks remarkably like a DDR pad. We will all praise this man for saving our lives and buy him a mountain of stuffed animals.
