January Pickups!

I've dabbled in the Dreamcast this month, snagging some decent lots when the going's right. Noise and I have been on a kick and I've been playing my Dreamcast very avidly. I think it's the only console I'll truly want to get a complete collection for. Here's what I got this month.

Games I'm most excited for: Typing of the Dead, Chicken Run, Power Stone 2, Grandia II, and Spawn.

Not pictured: Dynamite Cop Disc Only, NBA 2K, Bust-a-Move 4, The Ring, Capcom vs. SNK, Resident Evil Code Veronica, Wild Metal.

I hope you find you enjoy it, one of my personal favorite games. One of the few games I would call underrated (in the sense that there's a large disparity between my opinion and what I've seen from critics).
So far I am liking it but I almost gave up on it when it came to the fishing mini game. Made the mistake of going to the beach right next to the quest giver :P. I then spent around an hour catching rusty buckets, empty cans, and aquatic vegetation with every actual fish taking 1+ minute to catch. Out of the 100+ attempts I put in I caught one fish and 20 or so misc. items that served no other purpose then to taunt me all the while I had a book bitching that I was doing it wrong :P.

Then I noticed the red X in the corner of my minimap and found the tunnel leading to the larger beach area where I ended up catching the fish I needed on my second try :P. Square Enix knows how to push my buttons :X.

Favorite thing about the game so far is the music which is amazing and the magic which is pretty awesome although I wish I had a little more control when aiming vertically.

Well, I think its safe to assume I won't be picking up anymore games today, so here's my list for the month.

I went a little crazy, to be blunt. A lot of these were had for very cheap (with one painfully obvious exception, heh), a handful for free, but still, this is a huge stack of games.

I probably ought to chill out a bit for February, but we'll see what I stumble across I guess.

I thought you'd approve! :D

They are all CIB except Spider-man, for which I am unfortunately missing the manual. I'm very happy to have the box in good shape, but I hope I can stumble across the manual at some point.

Yeah, buddy! You got some good stuff in there, man. You need to think about firing up Grandia II soon. I'm like 4 hrs in right now and loving it.

I'm super excited for Grandia II for a variety of reasons. The voice acting is probably one of the main reasons. It has a stellar cast and I hear it's amazing.

Cam Clarke from Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles as Ryudo
Jennifer Hale from MGS, KOTOR
Jodi Benson from Toy Story
Richard Doyle from MGS, Legacy of Kain,
Paul Eiding from Up, Wall-E, MGS, and Starcraft

There's a lot of familiar voices that I think will be nostalgic. What do you think of the RPG elements, Noise?

I am going to fire it up this evening. When I beat it, Chicken Run is next.

I got that game in a lot last year, and although I planned on selling/trading it initially, I had such a good time testing it that I decided to add it to my collection. I have not yet completed it, but I hope you enjoy it.

As soon as the game started I was like "OMG that's Leonardo!!!" and then a bit later I'm like "hey! Who's THAT? Dude, it's Ariel!" haha.

I love it. I was saying in the RPG thread that I can't think of any RPG that came out around the same time that I enjoyed nearly as much as this.

The battle system is incredibly fun. The visuals are stunning. Just an all around great game.
