Welcome Melek-Ric. You have found the best video game forum around. Good to have you on board.
Re: New Members: Introduce Yourself!
I have been on the forums for awhile but haven't written in the introduction thread. I live in TN, south of Nashville. I saw there are some other people on here that also live in this area. There aren't many game shops but I find the occasional gem in a Goodwill every now and then. (Super Metroid $1 anyone?
)
Married with our 1st born a few months old. That is really fun, can't wait for him to play some games with me.
Game collection is slowly growing. Anyway, I really like the racketboy site. Great place for good conversations about retro gaming, etc. Thanks!

You stay out of my Goodwill on 96. I need some solid gaming finds this year.

Haven't found much at that Goodwill for awhile, but it is one of the only places to look for games around here.

Re: New Members: Introduce Yourself!
Hi,
Been playing games since I was three, with my parents NES.
First actual console was an SNES, which broke a week after having it. Second one only lasted six months. Needless to say my early experiences were not great. That was 1996.
Didn't get another console until 1999, when I got an N64 for Christmas (with DK64 and the expansion pack, Namco Museum, and NFL Quarterback Club 99, which I rarely played).
I've owned a lot of consoles and games since then.
NES-Still own.
SNES-had a different one a few years back, sold it last year.
N64-still have, along with a lot of games that are now 'rare', or so I've seen.
Gamecube-Have had three...just never could get into the games. Sold final one last year.
Wii-Got it on Black Friday 2012, enjoy it occasionally.
Sega Genesis-I've owned two Model 1's and a Model 2. The first model 1 I bought separately, then I got a Sega CD with a Model 2 for $40 because it was "broken" (seller had tried to use an NES wall wart with the SegaCD. Second Model 1 I got as a spare with a 32X.
SegaCD-see above.
Sega Genesis 32X. Had my first one, with some decent games. Got a second with the other Model 1. When I sold all my Genesis stuff I sold it separately, since it had the Model 1 cable (and it was different from most, as it had different textures on the plastic and was made in Japan).
Sega Nomad-Sold it last year, had the rechargeable pack and the battery pack. Went to a collector who wanted to display it.
Sega Saturn. I've had two, trying to get a third. I've committed to not sell game systems unless I'm absolutely certain I'm not going to want it again.
Dreamcast-Have had two, still have the second.
PS1-I've had a normal model and a PSOne, both were bought well after their time and were used.
PS2-Got this in 2002 as a replacement for the N64 since game support had died. Never gave me any problems, sold it last year since I never used it any more.
PS3-Got the Uncharted 160GB bundle in 2008. Still have it.
PSP-Had it...just wasn't comfortable to use, nor were the games great. Got it 2012, sold it 2013.
GBA SP-I got this after I showed my parents that it didn't need AA batteries, this was 2003. Electric blue color, and I still have it.
GameBoy Micro. Famicom edition, sold it last year.
DSLite: Blue again, got it in 2007, sold it 2012 since I didn't really use it anymore.
3DS: Aqua Blue, still have it, got it on eBay with the box, cradle and everything for $110 last January. Really enjoy it.
So yeah...it's a lot.
Short version: Have NES, N64, Wii, PS3, Dreamcast, 3DS, looking to get a Saturn again. Unfortunately I just lost an auction on eBay for one I wanted.
I think the best game deal I've gotten was a boxed mint copy of Shadow Squadron for the 32X for $1.00. Console wise it'd be the Genesis2/CD for $40. That was shipped.
EDIT: I forgot the Xbox stuff!
Brother got an Xbox in 2004, I didn't get on the bandwagon until 2005.
Xbox 360-2007, RROD'd in 2008, disc drive started to die in 2009. Got an Elite in 2009, my brother still has it, though it's approaching it's end.
I bought a RROD'd unit last year for $15, with the box. It actually hadn't fully died, so I left it on for several hours, then popped it open and installed a fix kit. Worked fine for hundreds of hours of play, ran nice and cool. Was a March 2006 Pro console. Sold it in October since I didn't have time to play anymore.

Re: New Members: Introduce Yourself!
Hi, everyone :> I've been lurking around for a while, and I thought I should finally sign up haha
I've been playing games since elementary school, but only semi-recently started to collect them. Although that's going super slow because of college and the lack of games in my super small town ._. (or lack of games that aren't priced above ebay prices
)
My fave games tend to be RPGs, and I'm not really a big fan of MMOs or multi-player only games. (there have been exceptions though...)
The consoles I own are: NES (semi-broken?), Genesis (no power cable or games), PS2, Wii, GBA, DS, 3DS, PSP (green <3), and a gaming PC. There are so many games and consoles I want to get and play though, it's not even funny ;-;
Anyways, I think that's all I have to say... Hope to see you guys around the forums :>

Welcome new peeps!!!
Re: New Members: Introduce Yourself!
Hey guys. Just checking in.
I stumbled on this forum by accident and found it had so much awesome information, I check it every day now. I got back into retro gaming when I found box with all my old systems when I was moving and the nostalgia bug bit me.
Now I want to start adding to my collection. As it stands right now I have a NES, SNES, Sega genesis, Dreamcast, N64, PSX, PS2, PS3, GBA, Xbox, Xbox 360, and my fiance's Wii. I would really like to add a Sega Saturn and possibly a Turbografx.
I look forward to cultivating my collection and making it as awesome as i want it to be
