Re: The Comic Book Thread
My local comic book shop got some Marvel Omniboo in from the liquidation and I was able to pick up Avengers Omnibus vol 1 and the Man-Thing Omnibus for $50 recently. I also picked up Squadron Supreme Omnibus for $20 and with credit took advantage of mycomicshop's deep discount sale to pick two more Omniboo, Avengers: The Crossing and Acts of Vengeance crossovers. In total I got five Omnibus books for less than $75. Considering they have a cover price of $500 I think I did pretty well.
My FS/FT/WTTF list:

What is an omniboo? Cause it sure as hell isn't the plural form of omnibus.

Re: The Comic Book Thread
So would the plural be Omnibi? Because Ominibus's just doesn't roll off the tongue quite right.

Re: The Comic Book Thread
Omnibuses. Like ordinary buses.
However, wikipedia says
However, wikipedia says
The Marvel Comic Omnibus editions have led to a new and different plural for the word Omnibus. Marvel declared: " the format has become so popular that we've adopted the word "Omniboo" to describe multiple volumes from this line"
Re: The Comic Book Thread
Leave it to Marvel to dumb down a medium that often doesn't need any extra dumb...
On a more relevant note, I finally requested the next couple GNs of Swamp Thing and Constantine on my reading list from the local library, and I'm catching up on Invincible.

Re: The Comic Book Thread
Picked up some stuff on CCL today:
-Amazing Spider-Man #397, 398 & 409 (which finishes my Clone Saga full-run! Awesome!)
-Fury of Firestorm #41 & 42 (COIE tie-ins)
-New Teen Titans (v2) #13 & 14 (COIE tie-ins)
-Superman #414 & 415 (COIE tie-ins)
And a few other filler titles for my collection. But those were the important ones since the Amazing Spider-Man purchases finishes my Clone Saga collection. And the COIE tie-in issues nearly do the same for that set.
And I need just 2 issues (out of 7) from the Infinity Inc. COIE tie-is, 3 more All-Star Squadrons (out of 7), and 3 Wonder Womans (which are all of them for WW, those have proven a little hard to track down out there). I even have the later Legends of the DC Universe Crisis Special that flew under a lot of people's radar and both Crisis Indexes. The original Crisis was one of the greatest super-hero stories ever told as far as I'm concerned, so this makes me happy!

Re: The Comic Book Thread
I'm going to post this here instead of the movie thread as it seems more relevant.
Upcoming Days of Future past's "Future Sentinel". http://www.empireonline.com/xmen/futuresentinel.asp
My pointless speculation: It's a Nimrod with a touch of the Phalanx.

Re: The Comic Book Thread
Don't know if you guys have seen this, but a new animated Batman movie is coming out, with Damien of all people. I don't think he's ever been shown outside of comic books
I don't like Grant Morrison's writing style, but he does have interesting ideas and one that I always appreciated was Damian. I have always enjoyed his character and place in the Batman mythos
