I thought I saw a thread about this a while back but I can't find it. Sorry if I just made a duplicate thread, mods. Anyway...
I'd like to play my GameCube games with my Wii cause the component cables are cheap. How are the generic brands? Nintendo brand cables are kinda pricy. Anyone here have recommendations? What do you guys use?
Much obliged for any help.

I have the Rocketfish ones and love them. The picture is great.
I've actually never even seen the Nintendo-brand ones. But I did just find them on Amazon and yup, quite expensive...

Nintendo ones are available for MSRP ($29.95) direct from Nintendo.
Not $4-5 like some of the generic ones, but definitely less than the OEM ones are going for on Amazon.
(I can't comment on the non-Nintendo ones, as that's all I've had for the system)
Also, still $20 for refurb Remote Plus and Nunchuck, if you happen to need some.

*not a ringing endorsement*
E-Forcity Wii component cables and Monster S-Video cable for N64/GCN/SNES are the only off brand cables i've ever had for any system...and they are the only cables that have ever given me a hard time.
The wii cables literally died - the only cables i've ever had that problem, start slow, video in and out, and finally nothing. I'm actually using the stock composite cable that came with it as I haven't notice a huge difference on the TV we use it on.
The Monster S-Video cables (just as a general FYI) provide a nice and reliable picture for all 3 systems, however, the connection is TIGHT and you risk damaging your TV inputs if you take them off and on...it's that tight.

You could maybe consider an HDMI upscaler as well, they're about ~$20 off amazon. I won't argue if they're better or worse, but I'm just lazy and liked having to only worry about one other HDMI cable haha.
This is the one I got awhile back

Also a fan of monoprice's component cable. Got it 3 years ago and still going strong.

I second this. Any reputable 3rd party company like Rocketfish or Nyko should perform the same as an OEM cable.

Haven't had any issues with my Monster cables yet, but they are tight, yes. Picture quality is fantastic.
Monoprice is the place for cables of any kind. High quality and low price.
