Craziest part is the CIB prices, especially some of the imports! Made another BookOff run today, a very nice sweet pile to take pictures of before posting.
All kinds of BookOff goodies, I posted the SFC carts earlier. Also a few from some other sources.
Club Nintendo Platinum Award Zelda Soundtrack
Came in a few weeks ago, I think the only tangible prize to pick from the meager selection last year. In a way I'm glad I am not pressured to buy new Nintendo games since my newest Nintendo system is the Wii.
Xbox Exhibition Discs 1 and 2 CIB - $10.76 shipped Ebay
Okay so why buy demo discs for an older console? For the damn DLC that I cannot download from Microsoft! I have been wanting the extra stuff for
Toe Jam & Earl III, constantly being pestered in the game by the Arnold Schwarzenegger game character to download from Xbox Live. Discovered the obsolete DLC is on the Exhibition 2 disc! Oooh yeah, two new levels and also three new characters and with a simple press of the button for
"DLC" OFFLINE INSTALL! In a twist of irony, I have to "pay" the Arnold guy with in game cash every time I want to visit levels. Ah well, another reason to go thru the bonus levels to gain the cash points. The other Exhibition disc has extra "DLC" for Dead or Alive Ultimate.

With the rise of the Dreamcast, work went underway to create a new game in the T&E series, which had fallen to the wayside with the Saturn. While the Dreamcast didn't survive in time for the game to be finished, the project was moved over to the XBOX. If you look online, you can actually find footage of the Dreamcast version, and it doesn't actually look all that different from what we got. Also, the game's subtitle was going to be "All Funked Up" at one point, which while much less generic, would have to be changed for obvious reasons.
You've got weirdness like an Arnold impersonator who will constantly remind you that the only way to get buffed up is to download the game's DLC.

Xbox Midtown Madness III CIB - $5.87 shipped Amazon
A sort of mix of Crazy Taxi and Scenery driving. I loved playing the 1st Midtown Madness on the PC years ago, discovering the drive anywhere in the city way before Grand Theft made it popular. I miss jumping the drawbridges in Seattle from that first game, but do have ramps to jump for bonus cars on this disc. I also recognize the landmarks in Washington DC , nicely done in Midtown Madness III. Oh man, Italy is a blast, the police car sirens have that high low wail, so very cool and very funny slamming thru the cars!
Wii Zelda Twilight Princess - $3.99 Goodwill
The cashier couldn't believe the price tag it either, but honored it. I think it was tagged to the standard old game price, oops. Someone was nuts to donate such a valuable game!
Game Cube Kirby Air Ride - $10.00 CraigsList
Great price for a great game. I have held off on Kirby since it looked like a knock off skateboard racing game. Seeing video clips in both Metal Jesus's YouTube and on Kirby 20th Anniversary changed my mind. Met the seller in a public place; a parking lot next to a grocery store. Why does a Craigs List transaction feel like a Drug Deal?
Okay now for the BookOff Finds
PS2 NTSCJ Everybody's Golf 3 Regular and Best Hits - $1.00 each BookOff
Couldn't decide so got both. Not big on sports games, but whta the heck its the Japanese versions and very inexpensive.
PS2 NTSCJ Zero (Fatal Frame) - $3.00 BookOff
I could not grab that case fast enough off the import clearance shelf! Not sure if any difference in the Japanese version, but should have a better feel with the Japanese voice over.
PS2 Dai Senryaku Exceed VII - $5.00 BookOff
Confusing name, always wanted to try this tank strategy game. I can see the SmartJoy Frag Mouse arrangement might be handy for this game.
DVD Extremes 3 - $5.00 BookOff
DVD Extremes 3 II - $2.00 Thrift Trader
Asian Horror along the lines of Oldboy. I have seen this DVD before, of all places as a movie checkout at the local library. Its not part three, but three stories. This is the special edition with the extra disc which expands one of the stories into a movie. Picked up part two which are actually three earlier unrelated horror stories.
PS2 NTSCJ Maken Shao - $3.00 BookOff
Another import clearanced game! Reviewed not as good as the Dreamcast original, but still worth getting.
PS2 NTSCJ Sengoku Musou - $3.00 BookOff
And my third score off the Import Clearance rack. I thought this was an exclusive, turns out to be the Japanese version of Samuari Warriors. I bought this thinking it is the early inspiration to the
Wii Sengoku Basara game?
DVD Big Fish Special Edition - $5.00 BookOff
Includes the "Fairy Tale" DVD shelf sized Book. A nice find looking forward to watching this mesmerizing tale again.
Terminator 2 Metal Sleeve - $3.00 BookOff
Already have this movie including the cardboard sleeve. Oh why not, a nice metal sleeve including external stickers of this sealed DVD. I am a nut, I peel off any studio stickers and place them inside once I bust the seal.
