I just hooked mine up. So far I've had a blast watching the update download. After it is done, I get to have more fun waiting to download a game because I don't have/really want anything on disc that isn't better on PS4. Wooooo!

I was dinking around with Dead Rising 3 and Forza 5 on a coworker's Xbone the other day, and I was horrified by the load times for games that have to have the entire thing installed to the hard drive to even play. (That, and the stuttering DR3 was doing, intermittently during gameplay, as if it were going to load a cutscene.)

I've not experienced this and I've played several hours of DR3.

It was in nightmare mode, and happened every so often. It was like the pause in gameplay to load cutscenes in sixth gen games. I didn't really ask him if it was something that usually happened, and I don't know if it was because of something he might have had running in the background.

so I've tried out:

Killer Instinct
Crimson Dragon
Halo Spartan Assault

The Halo game is probably the one I've enjoyed most so far, though it isn't too tough. KI is pretty and feels "next-gen" compared to the others, but if it has an arcade mode I've not found it Crimzon Dragon doesn't really feel like PD thus far (just played the first level), and I am not optimistic about the rest of the game

In any case, I feel like I can be done with these (for the most part) by this weekend's end. I am debating picking up Max: The Curse of Brotherhood, but otherwise am a bit at a loss for what else to play on this. I didn't like Dead Rising 1 or 2, am not big on Forza, and the cross-platform stuff is all better on PS4 (or PC) from everything I've read. So what else is worth digging into?

I've got Ryse, which is a decent 3rd person hack and slash a la God of War.

I've heard very mixed things on this one. Is it QT Event after QT Event, or is there a lot of God of War/DMC/standard 3D hack-n-slash play as well?

Ryse doesn't have an extensive moveset like GoW, you basically do some shield pushing to open the guy up and then light or heavy attacking to beat em down and then perform a finishing move to recoup health or get XP depending on what you need. This is broken up by doing phalanx stuff or defense with crossbolt throwers. Very fun imo.

I didn't care for DR 1 or 2, but like 3 ok. Max is awesome I highly recommend that.

KI doesn't have a arcade mode I think. I hopped on to see if you wanted to play, but looked like you were watching TV.

I was watching the 'Cuse. I'd be up for some KI perhaps in the next day or two. I noticed that there are some kind of "title" trophies that must be tied to winning some kind of title...is this an award for surviving a certain length of time in the endless/survival mode?

I'll keep an eye out for a ~$20 Ryse.
