What Made you Smile/What Ticked you off Today?

Smile: Saved at least fifty clams last night. Met some friends at the local bowling alley (it's usually about fifteen bucks a person on a Friday night) and my wife and I were added to their lane, free of charge. Thirty bucks right there. The clerk didn't ask for any money, and also gave my wife her shoes for free (I brought my own).

After an abysmal first game (bowled a 146) I took the empty pitcher to the bar, placed down a Lincoln and asked "Free refills by any chance?" and it worked. Ten dollars in savings. After the second game (barely broke 180) I went to try my luck at the bar again, and to my surprise the pitcher was on the house. Fifteen bucks saved.

So despite my crappy bowling, a pretty great night that lasted until 2am.

Frown: Funeral this afternoon. One of my besties lost her Grandfather to a heart attack on Thursday. Sucky stuff. Which sucks even harder is that I have a few friends who feel like they would be unwelcome at the funeral, all over things that can only be properly classified as bullsnot. Forget your personal hang ups and show some ding dong respect. Not that the dead dude knows you are there, but c'mon. Plus when someone that close to you dies you are fairly emotionally numb and very forgiving.

So that's my piece for today. Making French onion soup with smoked Gruyere cheese inside of homemade bread bowls, so I'm pretty excited about that. After the funeral and dinner, we'll probably hang out with my pal Pringles but will definitely be ais before midnight.

The last time I saw a copy on ebay, 4 or 5 months ago I believe, it was a BIN at something like $350. Definitely out of my price range.

The one I lost last night sold at $112. I should have set my bid higher, but there was no other activity at all and I foolishly thought I'd squeak by. Oh well.

Uh oh, I just thought, are you the guy who beat me on this one? That would be kinda cool actually.
No, wasn't me.

Can you share the link?
Certainly:

Sangokushi IV

Also the first time I've seen a copy that included the map.

I have this fear quite often when bidding on games on ebay. Sometimes I want to share a seller's name with others so they can see some of the other cool stuff I'm not going to bid on. But then I worry that saying "But please stay away from game X" won't help because regular Racketeers might, but irregulars and guests will have no community reason to do so.

That usually means I just share with friends that happen to be online instead unless there's nothing I'm interested in. *shrug*

Smile: My Father and I both agree that Strippers On Ice is a great idea. He even went on to say "Plus it's nipply out there".

My Mom did not approve.

Smile: I hear frantic game music coming from the other room. I go in, and see my wife playing Mouse Trap on a Coleco emulator on her laptop. Stand behind her and watch. She'll KILLING it using keyboard.

LOL: Text message from a distant but yet close friend of mine:

"You are now friends with a guy who was asked to leave a restaurant because I wanted to take home a lobster as a pet".

I wish I could give you guys some context to how silly this guy is, but it's a "you have to know 'em" situation. Even though he was kicked out, I'm sure the entire customer base had his back.

"I can buy him dead, WHY can't I buy him alive?"

And the guy isn't a jerk and wasn't seeking attention, he simply had a valid question.

Earlier today a 5 year old boy rang my doorbell and said "we just moved here and I wanted to see if any friends live here."

So you chatted with his parents and let him play some SMB or Sonic, right?

If he'd come with his parents I might have, but he was alone, and the sun was down. I don't need an angry parent banging on my door because they think I lured the kid in with promises of candy in my van.
