Sorry if this has been brought up already in this super long thread  , but, seeing how MS didn't support the oXbox after the release of the XB360, how long do you all think MS will support the XB360 now that the XBO has been released?

Not really surprising. It's going to happen all generation unless Microsoft pays devs to gimp the PS4 version and make them equal.

Either way, it'll be a fun game on both consoles. But if you own both consoles then the PS4 version might be the one to get.

Gonna be a trend this generation I think, as the PS4 has a stronger GPU.

Hard to say, but I think MS has more reason to keep supporting the 360. It still sold well over the holidays, still has games coming out, still warrants paying for XBL Gold for some users, and so on.

I think it'll at least be strong through this year, but probably start to wane in 2015 (at least looking at release dates).

Hard to say, there are speculations that Microsoft might sell the whole Xbox division because its not profitable . If I remember well, people didn't really switch to 360 until like 2 years later after the 360 release that is in '07 . So by '08 probably nobody even remembered the oXbox . I guess we will have a similar situation here, maybe longer because X1 looks like it has a slower switching rate.

There are speculations, but it isn't because it's not profitable, because it is. I just read an article stating as such.

Huh? The Xbox One has sold much faster so far than the Xbox 360 did out of the gate...

So did the Dreamcast , it sold a lot at launch. On the opposite, I hear the 3DS had a very slow start. The first few months, or year, sales are not something to measure the success of the system on. According to Wikipedia , the Wii U sold 3 million in 2 months and then for the next 12 months or so 1 million.

When the 360 was out there was so much to look forward to like:
Wireless controllers, Online multiplayer, Digital Store, HD, huge hard-drive capacity. All you have to do is load GTA 3 then GTA 4 and you will understand.

On the opposite, there isn't much reason to switch to the next console this generation (applies to ps4 too) which makes me figure that the 360 linger a lot more than the oXbox did.

I just hooked mine up. So far I've had a blast watching the update download. After it is done, I get to have more fun waiting to download a game because I don't have/really want anything on disc that isn't better on PS4. Wooooo!
