Question # 1 :
I have an LCD TV made by Samsung. It's pretty excellent. All High-def and whatnot. I was wondering, since I have my Dreamcast hooked up to it, should I get an S-video cable? How much better will it make the image on an LCD, if at all?
Question # 2 :
Wachenroder- Has anyone played it? Is it possible for a non-fluent speaker of Japanese to play through and enjoy the game's story? Is it expensive? Worth buying?
Question # 3 :
Why is Super Hang-On so awesome? seriously, it's like the game was made by God.
Thanks!!

1. Svideo is pretty on a LCD, but VGA is best. Do you have a vga port on it (15 pin dsub - aka the blue one for computer monitors)? Even if you dont, buy this from racket for all of the options:

It is alittle more expensive, but well worth it just in case.
2. I beat a chunk of it, but after a short break I forgot the menus and quit. I do not think I am the best reference for this.
3. I actually dont like Super Hangon that much, except in the Arcade.

My TV does have a VGA in, but how do you get sound working with that? VGA is just video, correct?

Yes VGA is only video. However, next to the vga input on your tv you should see an audio input (looks like an 3.5mm ear phone jack). Any VGA box/cable for your DC will have at least that audio out.thejamessea wrote:My TV does have a VGA in, but how do you get sound working with that? VGA is just video, correct?
And if your really too cool for school,You can get one of these. As sold by our friendly neighbourhood Racketboy.

The only way to deactivate the ray beam and fight back the vampire alien threat is with a complicated series of foot patterns on the device's control board that looks remarkably like a DDR pad. We will all praise this man for saving our lives and buy him a mountain of stuffed animals.

1: I would look into getting a VGA cable like fastbilly1 suggested. As for sound, it's like a PC there should be a green audio input.thejamessea wrote:Question # 1 :

Thanks everyone. I'm definitely picking up that VGA box now that the audio question has been answered. I can't wait to see JGR in VGA mode. : )
Feel free to continue the Wachenroder talk. I'd like to hear more about this game.
Re: Three Important Questions! ;)
S-video has a nice picture when it has a direct connection to the TV. Using a video source selector box degrades the picture. Thats what I found when I hooked up mine on my LCD.
