Took out deneb last night and worked on some of my low aligned units. Got my first mage, but not sure I want to use a staff on him yet. I still have Warren at 17 ali at level 8. So hopefully I dont get unlucky.

Got Yushis last night; she has retardedly good stats. I have a couple of angels I've been raising since level 8 or so and she's got 50 more INT than them. Just need a few levels and she'll be a badass Seraphim. Also got Saradin and another Staff, and I already had an Undead Ring, so now I'm up to three Liches. And I've cleared all the stages up to Fort Allamoot (holding off on Antyljal until I get Fogel and Deneb), so I think I'm in the clear alignment and charisma-wise. I'll probably blitz Fort Allamoot just to be safe, but past there I can start using my army normally again I think.

The game is delightfully cruel that way. For me what happens is I know that unit A will go before unit B in the turn order, and unit A should be able to get the kill. Then unit A misses, unit B picks up the kill and trashes their morality stats.

All characters get!

And man, my ALI got trashed much further than I thought. I got down to 30 ALI, then recruited Deneb and Galf, and now I'm at 5 ALI. And my level is equal to the undead in Antalia, so I hope I can get enough ALI from killing them before I level up too many times to be able to get ALI from them.

Also, up to four liches and will have a fifth once I'm ready to liberate the cities in Antanjyl and get my free Staff and Undead Ring.

The class system is a bit flawed here, no? I don't remember the details but I remember thinking that Tactics Ogre: Knight of Lodis had a spiffy class system.

The first issue is, as was mentioned before, that before you can change Fighters to other classes, they have like 5 to 6 levels of Fighter and crap Int. I made a Doll Mage but I'm not sure he is good, at least he attacks all.

The second issue is that it seems like the Amazon is mostly useless other than for getting Clerics. The Witch is interesting I guess. Valks are back-row magic users and they seem simply worse than just using Wizard and their own upgrades. Valks are only shooting Lightning, the Wizards can do that or other strikes.

I haven't yet been affected by the alignment ranges so let's see what I have to say about that. The feeling I get is that Wizard's and upgrades are basically the only class you really want in the back, and they seem to be hard to upgrade.

Actually the Valkyrie's later job, the Muse, is one of the few units with Snow movement, continues doing excellent lightning attacks similar to a Sorcerer(an element which even a Lich has comparatively lacklustre resistance to), has great resistances and is a much tougher unit than most of the wizard class tree, and can serve effectively in both the front and rear positions.

Now the Cleric line's healing and anti-undead abilities are useful, but don't forget that you're also removing a slot for an offensive ability whenever you use one. So a unit with both a healer and a large creature is going to be severely hampered offensively, even if they provide great defense. The Cleric line also has much weaker resistance overall.

The Witch is a bit lacklustre. Her resistances are solid, and she can recruit unique critters(if you acquire the item necessary to let her), but her stat growth is generally horrendous(with the exception of her luck stat, which Witches excel at), her front row attacks are pathetic, and her backrow has a fair chance at missing.

Ugh, even after years of playing I still slip up. I let my caslt get taken in slums. Leader's group was beat after a flurry of misses, then another group immediately went to battle. After it finished, the unit who pushed back my leader took the home base. I needed to pause it to ring a dinner bell, but too late.

And ivo, you cant think of classes the same as in TO. Valkyrie is an excellent unit. It is your high aligned spell caster. As a muse, she gets 2 full party spell attacks when the regularly promoted mage gets just 1

The biggest issue with MotBQ that OB64 addresses is the low ali female options. The witch isnt very good. The dragon master is a good female class.

No worries, just reload. I'm worried I may have screwed myself out of getting the Tablet. When I first did Pogrom Forest, my Rep was low and I ended up getting the Censer, but it wasn't so low I could give it away. Now that my rep has gotten pretty high, I'm trying to go back to Para, but I continue to get the same message about the merchant Toad leaving for a different city. So I am guessing I've screwed myself out of both the Demon statue and the Silver.

As for how far I am, I finished the Kastolatian Sea and have stripped out the Mermaids I had used to be replaced by angels, but I have not advanced any further. I meant to last night but ended up watching a movie instead. I figure I'll get a little further over the weekend, and I still have all of February to keep playing.
