Dude...you have no idea what you're missing.

I'm gonna go ahead and take a wild guess and say he's missing fun. And possibly games.

Here's to that. Hope it happens in the next couple of years.

Actually funny enough, I recently attempt on eBay to acquire a copy of Fun 'N games in an auction, only to watch it shoot from $25 to $95 in the final three hours.

Looking at the cover art, he is also missing paint, music, and style...Those three are easily worth $95. Fun and games are just a bonus.

Does Fun N Games for the Snes contain Aquashark on it?
Cause as it stands for the 3DO because of this game that would be the only true shoot'em up for the system excluding the 3d space shooters!!
If you can see the future while remembering the past, you may just have control of the present.

Ack wrote:And beating those and then Chrono Trigger and FF6 this year is totally doable. I spent less than a month on Chrono Trigger on my first dedicated playthrough, and FF6 I can do relatively quick, though I usually take my time and enjoy myself nowadays. Skyblazer is a good one for after that, as well as Illusion of Gaia.
Oh, that's not even my entire list! I still have to go through my carts and see what games I haven't played yet, and decide which ones I wanna add to my list. Then I'll have to go through the mental list of games I don't own, and see which ones I would wanna either pick up or play on a flash cart. Then I have to decide which games I wanna replay.

Illusion of Gaia is one. I've owned that cart for years now. I probably got it back in 2005 or so. I put in an hour maybe when I first got it, then stopped playing for whatever reason. I would definitely like to play through it. And if I'm doing that, then I might as well try for the whole spiritual trilogy as well.

As for games I'd like to replay, the only thing I really have on my working list is the DKC trilogy. It's been years since I've played those games. I wanna play through them all and get 100% without cheating. I've 100%'ed the first one before without cheats, but I've never done that with the second two (I always use the cheats to get all the bonus coins).
ZeroAX wrote:Megaman X2 is probably the easiest among the 3, and X3 is by far the hardest.
Really? I thought X was pretty easy. You say X2 is even easier? I basically could have played through X in a day if I wanted. And I typically suck at Mega Man games.
ZeroAX wrote:Also you should really check out Robotrek :D. It's a light hearted JRPG with a fun (if unbalanced) combat system and nice graphics (the battle theme is really annoying though :/). Also you can beat it faster than your usual JRPG, so you can add another JRPG beaten this year with less effort :P
Oh God, please don't tell me about any more awesome SNES RPGs!

I have Chrono Trigger and FF6 on my list for sure. After that, there's a couple I've been wanting to play for a while now. I really wanna play Secret of Mana 2, but I'll have to make myself beat the first one first. Then there's Tales of Phantasia, which I have wanted to play ever since I played Star Ocean (those two games get talked about as a pair often, so playing Star Ocean I read a lot about ToP). I think I've already mentioned Breath of Fire 2. I might wanna give Earthbound another shot. A couple years back I had an Earthbound cart, I didn't care much for the game so I sold it. But everyone raves about it, so I was thinking of giving it a second chance. Then there's Treasure Hunter G. When I once made a repro cart of this game, I became interested in it while play testing the cart.

So right there is 6 games, just off the top of my head, that I would consider adding to my list. That would total me at 8 RPG (or RPG-like) games for the year.

I've never played most of the really expensive games on the console, specifically Hagane, Fun 'N Games, Harvest Moon, Castlevania: Dracula X, Mega Man X3, Final Fight Guy, Ninja Gaiden Trilogy(not to say I haven't played a Ninja Gaiden game, just not this particular version), Wild Guns, Aerofighters, Metal Warriors, Pocky and Rocky 2, and Demon's Crest. I have played Earthbound and EVO, and I own Super Turrican 2.

I'm hoping that I can pick up a lot more for the console and then have the bubble burst, prices drop, and be able to find these for much cheaper than they currently go for.
I've said it before, but I'm glad I went on a SNES buying spree when I did. I picked up a lot of games that were pricey at the time, but have skyrocketed since. I'm glad I picked up MMX2 and X3 when I did. Also a few others like Dracula X and others that I'm forgetting.

Speaking of Dracula X, I might wanna replay that one since I've only ever beat it once and it was years ago. But Ack, don't feel too bad if you've never played this one. It's easily one of the worst Castlevania games. You might have read reviews that say the level design is poor and the game is tough... they're not kidding! The level design is bland at best. And some areas are just so overly hard because of the level design and enemy placement. It's not even fun Castlevania-hard. It's just frustrating fuck this hard.

Well, here's to hoping that the bubble does burst, and the prices fall.

fun fact the Japanese version of Dracula X is actually the best version, it has red blood when you die, its censored in the US version its white like in US metal slug and the Japanese version costs $30 as a opposed to $100+ for the US version and of course plays just fine on my SNES ;)

Oh yes, there are definitely more. Lots more if you end up including imports. I would really suggest you hold off on imports at first and just stick to the major ones that got a NTSC-U release for now, so: Chrono Trigger, Final Fantasy IV, Final Fantasy VI, Soul Blazer, Illusion of Gaia, Earthbound, Secret of Mana, Breath of Fire, Breath of Fire 2, Lufia, Lufia II, Robotrek, 7th Saga, Arcana, Super Mario RPG, The Twisted Tales of Spike McFang, Ogre Battle, Shadowrun, etc...

Yeah, I'm glad I got some of what I did when I did. I got most of the big names for decent prices, though I wish I could have picked up some of the rarer sequels to some of them. And I still need to get a couple of important big names I missed, though there aren't too many now. Mostly it's those really expensive ones that bug me.

And I look forward to one day playing Dracula X and letting you know what I think!

You don't need an external harddrive to play SNES on your Wii. Use the same SD card that you used to hack it in the first place.
