The thing that always put me off multiplayer RTS against players is exactly all the rushing. I was just too slow and enjoying the "base building" aspect to care to build an army quickly.

Heck, in RA2 even the AI was a bit too quick for me and I had to adapt to first building a defense and then slowly building my massive army.
No worries, I tend to be great on the base building/tech up side but not nearly as good at producing military. I tend to build hordes of cheap chaff and try to Soviet Union my enemies to death. And that just doesn't work if you're playing something like the Core in TA(the Arm's Peewee just destroys the Core's AK in a straight fight. That rate of fire is a beast). But some games take that kind of tactic into account, like Age of Empires III. I only played the Russians in AoE3, because they got something like 12 infantry for each one I built.

Now in RA2 I always picked the Americans so I could use the summon GI super power and have them set up sandbags and become my main line of defense early on in the game.

I remember France sucked ass, that huge cannon was so useless....I guess an American company just couldn't make France look good

The Grand Cannon, when used properly could be devastating. Sadly it was so hard to use properly, it became like the Maginot Line. My favorite tactic with it was to have an MCV ready to chrono and deploy behind the enemy base and deploy it, then drop the cannon and start building a pillbox. After two pillboxes and an anti air were up, it was start building more cannons. Though dropping a Warfactory and start cranking out Grizzlies was a good tactic aswell.

Personally I always played random, and had a dozen tactics each round based on who I got and where. My favorite game as France was with three of my cousins. I engineer rushed one just south of me and took his Con Yard in the first few minutes. He retaliated with tanks and flak trucks and took out most of my base, he left me with three engies and a handful of Gis hiding in trees just north of the base. I slowly worked them around the map until I got into one of the other teams bases as he was attacking the other two and took his Con Yard, Ore Refinery, and Airforce Command. I then started dropping Grand Cannons and pillboxes inside his base which destroyed everything. He had a handful of units left from his attack on the other two as my waive of newly built Rocketmen took to the skies.

Yeah, I remember the time a buddy called Target played a match of TA and just launched weak scoutplanes the whole game. Eventually there were so many Finks in the game, he blocked out the radar. It made targeting him almost impossible.

So I nuked him.

I'm sorry, I haven't played TA so I don't know the specifics of the mechanics of the game, but reading it a bit out of context this sounded like you were being mildly annoyed by someone while listening to the Team America theme song

What about when Greg kept making fake commanders underwater and having them walk to various points on the map? That was a great concept.

My favorite expansion pack has to be the N64 Expansion Pack. Brought newer and bigger games like OOT and new features in Perfect Dark.

Best add-on has to be the Sega Fortress built by adding a Sega CD and a 32x to the Genesis. It was like building a transformer.

Oh wait, you meant for games? Sorry, my bad.
My FS/FT/WTTF list:
