Using a mouse rigorously has been causing me some pretty hefty wrist and arm pain as of late. Nothing has really changed in my position over the last 3 years so maybe it's just catching up with me. Using a mouse lightly for web surfing doesn't seem to bug me. I don't have issues with controllers either. Unfortunately it's cutting into my ability to play Counter Strike every night which sucks since that's about all my friends play on PC. :(

Get one of those mouse pads with wrist support if you don't already have one, or put something else under your wrist to elevate your arm so it's level instead of bent. That helped when I was starting to have problems anyway. I haven't had wrist pain in quite a while now.

If that doesn't help try taking a break from PC gaming for a bit.

Yeah. I keep my wrist straight and everything, that's why I find it a bit strange. Probably just need to take a little break from using a mouse and keyboard. It's fine for about 30 minutes or so but afterwards I can start to feel it coming on.

If you're playing hours of FPS or whatever every night, yeah, cool it a bit. Happens to me when I've gone through periods of 4-6 hours of gaming a day for a couple of weeks at a time. When I either finished a game or otherwise slowed down a bit, the irritation would go away.

Keep in mind that keeping your wrist straight won't help jack if you are slouching. Take it from someone who has played the piano most of his life and sits at a desk most of the day: correct posture changes everything. Head up, back straight.

William Shatner's TekWar?

I never figured out how to progress in that game. I just wandered the levels eventually killing all the civilians.
