Super Bummed!!! Huge chunk of my gaming collection STOLEN :(
Super Bummed!!! Huge chunk of my gaming collection STOLEN :(
Just needing to vent a little bit. I recently moved to a new house. Before I could get the alarm installed I got ripped off a big chunk of my collection... I honestly don't know wether to keep collecting or downright sell all my stuff now. The games That we're stolen had been collected over the years and ranged from various platforms ; nes,snes/super famicom, n64, genesis, even all my psp stuff was picked up. It really sucks but I guess things could be alot worst.

It sounds like they saw you move and watched you move in. Sincw they stole all of your games i would hit the pawn shops andd retro stores in the area. Ask the clerks if anyone turned in your stuff. You have the right for that. They should have their info. And check out the flea markets sat and sunday. They know video games is worth money. Also I'm sorry about that.

Man, that does suck. Definitely someone who watched you move in and waited until you were grabbing another load, or else tipped off by movers if you used some. Like Mas said, report it and check pawn shops and Criagslist. Pawns have to keep the ID of stuff that comes in so they can direct police if something is reported as stolen later.

I forgot. Check eBay also like closet near you. Some people are just stupid and not know what the hell their doing. I remember a story where a neighbor broke into another house in the neighborhood and that saturday he was selling the guys stuff at a yard sale the thief was hosting. Lol.

I feel for ya'.
I had this happen to a friend of mine as he was moving. He had a large box of NES, SNES, and N64 games swiped right out of his truck. It was a pretty nice set of games too (RPGs, classics, nice condition stuff).
It actually wasn't the monetary value that bugged him so much, but the years of tracking down all those classic titles for reasonable prices, only to lose them.
Luckily, this happened after he sold off his Saturn and PS1 collection.
If I had my collection stolen, it would definitely affect what and if I collected. I probably would go all digital, maybe get some nice flash carts. If I did buy anything back, it would be only my absolute favorite games (Final Fantasy III would be a must, for me).

Definitely scope out the pawnshops even if you don't find all your games if you can at least find one you can maybe get charges against whoever stole it and keep them off the streets for a few weeks
. Most thieves just keep hitting houses until they get caught so maybe you can save someone else from getting knocked over by the prick or pricks.

That's what would happen to me. Starting over just wouldn't be an option. Though my nostalgic favorites would probably end up in my possession eventually.nightrnr wrote:If I had my collection stolen, it would definitely affect what and if I collected.
