I've gotten some good deals on shopgoodwill.com over the years.

Dreamcast, two controllers, cords, rumble pack, memory card for $18 SHIPPED (it ended around $9).

a great conditioned GBA Micro with the drawstring pouch and a game, with charger for $40 shipped.

I don't usually find anything at my local Value Village, but yesterday, I picked up:

Army Men 3D (PS1) - $0.60
Legacy of Kain: Soul Reaver (PS1) - $0.80

Both games are complete, and although neither were on my "want" list, I couldn't turn them down at those prices.

(I know Legacy of Kain is good since I have the DC version. How is Army Men 3D? I probably would have passed on it, but it is apparently the first game in the long-running series.)

I picked it up at a thrift shop too. It sucks. The controls and how the army men moved irritated me. Although, I only played it for about 10 minutes so I guess my experience is limited.

That very basic review confirms all of my suspicions.

Based on what you said, I will probably not prioritize playing though it, I will probably keep it, however, since I am collector like that. (I will also continue to think it is kind of weird that such a crappy game inspired so many sequels.)

EDIT: I'll ask this too based on your avatar...How is the PS3 Afro Samurai game? It is not too expensive, and I have been considering that one too. (It looks cool, but the review scores on GameFAQs are comparable to those of Army Men 3D, however. )

Like I said, I only played 10 minutes. It is beyond me why they kept making sequels. I don't think you should sell either considering you got it for 60 cents.

I actually love the Afro Samurai game. It's how I discovered AS. It's a great hack n' slash but it has it's set of problems. Like you'll hear and read in most reviews, the camera and boss fights are the main negatives. The story is just ok but I'm guessing that's not what you're buying it for.

Collector Tip: Don't forget to buy it with the dust cover.

But the same kind of items i may bid on once and forget about, it seems they always ended a buck or two over me for decent deals. Its happened to many times.
Nah it's just that it's not a secret anymore. Most of the stuff I put on my Watch List ends up closing right around what it's worth. Because of the shipping I only look for that one deal in a thousand where everyone sleeps on it. I learned the hard way though. I had two Game Gear games shipped cross country and they charged me over $10. I work at a place where I deal with our shipping guy regularly and I've shipped boxed consoles cross country for only a couple dollars more. You can e-mail them and call them out on the shipping but it'll only save you a buck or two. Better than nothing I suppose. Usually I'll point out that they're charging a $1-3 handling fee just for someone to box it up and they'll remove that or something. Like others have said I only browse on there for the most part.

Yeah I think the systems you can do okay on. I got a spare DC with no cables just in case my original ever craps out and it was clean as a whistle and worked fine. Think I paid $15 total. Only problem is once you have the consoles you want you're at a disadvantage if there's a bundle with a game you want but you don't want to bid on the whole shebang. Such is life I guess.
