I was lucky enough to run into the cabinet a few times. One of which was in the hands of a collector whose party I was invited to. It was always a blast both literally and figuratively. I love it in the same way I love Virtual On for it's great competitive play.ExedExes wrote:Someone else knows about Tokyo Wars. That alone is amazing. I think the only cabinets I saw (and played) were imported from Japan, for they all had the Japanese writing and 100 yen coin slotsGunstar Green wrote:I've always been a big Tokyo Wars fan though so the purchase was still worth it and I don't think it cost me a heck of a lot as Dreamcast games were flying off the shelves for a pittance at the time.![]()
My favorite thing, 1 vs 3. I knew the game so well I'd take the handicap, kind of like Combat on the Atari 2600. I'd always do well.

I've seen that - and attempted it. But I could never get it to work myself.Ben wrote: Just wanted to clear something up about your statement, given that a dial up ISP still runs about $9.95 a month. You can make a broadband modem simulate a dial up connection, there is no need to pay for dial up (or buy an ethernet adapter) to play those games. Here's a guide that walks you through it: http://dreamcast-talk.com/forum/viewtop ... f=3&t=3122 There is (maybe was) a community that plays the Saturn online games in the UK as well, I played with those guys back around 2007-2008 or so and did it this way without ever paying for dial up.

I don't know that you would want to spend this much, but I used a DialServ to connect mine. They're pretty pricey though, but allow for plug and play connectivity, more or less. http://www.digi.com/products/wireless-r ... v#overview http://www.digi.com/pdf/card_dialupmodemreplace.pdf http://www.amazon.com/gp/offer-listing/ ... dition=newnoiseredux wrote:

I'm not positive that they still make them so that one on Amazon has been jacked up, you may get one pretty cheap on ebay, it's hard to say really. I can vouch for that working with a Saturn and DC though, so if you're a hardcore Sega collector it would be worth it if you can get a deal on one.
Edit - Just wanted to clarify that in case people find this post on Google 10 years from now or something like that. Digi made a bunch of products like this, that are under the DialServ banner. Not all of them will natively output a phone line to the DC/Saturn and may need an adapter, I snagged one of the ones that had a phone line out and then translated that to wifi (basically working like a usb wifi dongle). I'm not 100% that model I linked is the same exact one, so you would want to be sure and do your homework before purchasing so that you know what you're buying.

I don't wanna spend anything haha. I actually use a free dialup ISP. It's not a local number, but my phone service has unlimited long distance, so it really doesn't matter.Ben wrote: I don't know that you would want to spend this much,
Re: How is your Dreamcast gaming going on?
I will just stick to playing myself and just play the games. I was just curious about the whole thing because the broadband adapter is expensive and I didn't know if it's a collector item type of thing or not.noiseredux wrote:I don't wanna spend anything haha. I forgot to add that I also got star wars jedi battles also in the mix but that and soldier of fortune does not work
. I need to get some of my credit back but I hope that if they throw out the games maybe I can keep the cases. Ill find out today.
I want to ask if I should do this. I see all the time monitors for computers at a savars or any thrift shop for like 10.00 or so. Now since my tv does have vga but it sucks because it doesn't fit the screen or the screen is very little on my tv and I can't get a full screen, should I pick up a monitor just for the dreamcast or am I going to have the same issue

Re: How is your Dreamcast gaming going on?
I only acquired one Dreamcast game in 2013, which is embarrassing.
Phantasy Star Online has piqued my interest in Ver. 2 so I'm gonna check that one out. Elemental Gimmick Gear gear is also another one I have my eye on.
Anyone have any info on Seventh Cross Evolution? The cover art is so bland I can't get much of an impression of the game. And I've never heard anyone talk about it.
Oh and back to this post..........
