Wait. I'll try calling Adolf, Elvis, Michael and Ossama and ask them if any of them have seen him in any of the villages on top of the Argentinian Mt. Olympus sky complex.

Um....didn't he die in a traffic accident?
Didn't you hear? He was executed by firing squad, except instead of a blindfold, they had him put on the Virtual Boy.

Seriously, all this doom and gloom about Nintendo losing money, WiiU not selling well, etc. I wouldn't worry about it at all.

My $0.02

I basically fall in to the "Nintendo often goes through these release jitters, but *current handheld here* is strong, the upcoming *first party franchise here* release will bolster sales and everything will be fine!" faction.

I think Nintendo has made some bold moves, including a $100+ tablet with the WiiU seems to put a lower limit on low they can drop the price on the console. The 2DS could have been sold without a card slot, eStore only, cutting another $50 off that price... No secondhand market to cut in to the profits.

Personally I haven't come to the point where I can no longer NOT own either the WiiU or 3DS, currently owning a Wii and a DSLite, if that makes sense.

The PSP Go tried to do that and it was a huge failure, Nintendo wouldn't make the same mistake

The Go had many problems, ninja, but the Vita has a great ecosystem that proves a traditional style handheld console can work with digital integration. It may not be selling like Nintendo-hot cakes but it's my most-played handheld... And 95% of my titles for it are downloads.

Heck, if they make a new Via with 64 gb of on board storage and no cart slot I'd probably buy it.

If nintendo ever gets their online components straightened out, a digital only budget unit could work well for them.

The PSP Go failed mostly cause it was more expensive than a normal PSP, instead of being cheaper, and not having a way to expand its memory. Also at the time PSN game prices were too expensive so it wasn't worth it. Fix those 3 things and it could have done better.

Mind you I don't think Nintendo should do it since it's mostly small kids who bought a 2DS and physical media is an easier option for them to get games.

If it wasn't for this, I would agree too that a digital only model would work well.

I agree with Opa Opa though about the Vita. 90% of my games are digital purchases too and although I usually prefer physical media, it's just far more convenient with a handheld to have all your games loaded on the console instead of messing around changing the carts all the time. I wish the Vita had come with 64GB of internal storage...

I'll be all about physical media for as long as it's around, but I can honestly say digital for a handheld seems completely ideal for me. No more zip locked bags of tiny cartridges or anything... haha.

Gunster I meant for Nintendo to make their own retro console like an at games type of console with like 40 games in the system. Let Nintendo design and make it all on their own and then sell it for like 50.00

Seeing the news about this lately really kind've gets me depressed as I've only really started shifting to being primarily a Nintendo oriented gamer over the past couple years. But I believe they have what it takes to fix all of their problems and sometimes it just takes a slap in the face to realize it.
