I recently bought DKC3 (I blame the DK talk around here lately) as well as Super Metroid. Nice to finally have an original cart for the latter, it only took me forever to get around to buying it.

I have Super Metroid on the virtual console and its nice and all, I beat it on there, but it just isn't the same.

Anyway, I never actually beat DKC3 back in the day, and in fact played very little of it compared to 1 and 2. I'm looking forward to it.

I do have the modded xbox but the nerd in me wants the original hardware to appreciate when I buy the game and makes me want to play to beat the game. Emulation is not the same feel. It sucks. Ohh well. I did play a little Saturday night slam masters and xmen. The xmen game is beautiful but hard. I still like xmen 2 for the genesis better. The snes game characters are giants.
My heart says I should tell you to go for it. My wallet says "oh god not another SNES collector who is just going to blow more air into the SNES cart bubble".
ZeroAx,
There's no chance for that. You should read some of my older threads. I've had it plenty of times and i can't afford the snes or go back to going into the multi consoles again. Besides i made a promise to me and my wife and the fact that she'll kill me and I would never hear the end of it. Happy wife happy life.

I think you're doing great not sinking back into your old cycle of buying and selling, mas. While I don't think you should really get back into collecting again maybe somewhere down the line you can look into flash carts so you can play on the original hardware without needing a collection. You get the entire library and the authentic feel with none of the huge money and space draining collection. It's worth consideration and might help quell the temptation to start collecting again.

Yeah, mas, a flash cart would let you play whatever you like on the actual hardware. It would be a good option for you.

I sadly lost out on a Fun 'N Games auction yesterday, as it went from $30 to $95 in the space of three hours. But I won a couple of other auctions, and #243(First Samurai) has arrived and been cleaned and tested. It is a finicky cart with some heavy wear on its pins, so I will need to be gentle with it. And hopefully #244 and #245 will arrive soon.

Holy shit Fun 'N Games is rare?! I've always been interested in trying that one out.

I finally managed to get Kendo Rage while I was out yesterday. Cleaned it, but haven't played it yet.

There were only about 2,000 copies of the SNES port of Fun 'N Games manufactured, so it is pretty rare.

And have fun with Kendo Rage! I love its artwork and gameplay, and its boss battles are challenging but very beatable. It will punish you for mistakes though.

Guys,
Thank you so much for the compliments. Stuff like that helps me even more. About the flash carts maybe after the summer or by Christmas but who knows what will happen by then. Unless I see a damn good deal I can't resist like a any cartridge system with 50 games for 30.00 and there all great and hard to find titles(which will never happen anymore) I'm just going to stick with the xbox and collect for the dreamcast.
I do love the 16 bit era though. I mean nes is classic but the snes vs genesis era was the best years for gaming imo. I still will play genesis games and compare them to the snes counterparts.

First Samurai was yet another Amiga port that was a very surprising & satisfying SNES game. You'll like that one.

mas have you thought about maybe using a Wii to emulate? you can get a mayflash adapter for like $15 for it that lets you use a legit snes controller on it. I'm not sure if they make snes to xbox adapters.
