Man this game is great I loaded up my save and was supposed to go just past the edge of where my last radio tower has revealed the map and I end up screwing around for 3 hours taking over bases, hitting up other radio towers and stuff. So much fun.
What is the coop like? I want to try it out sometime. Anyone here interested? I've got the uplay PC version.
Coop is a completely separate campaign. It is very linear though and not nearly as good as the sp. Last time I played it was right after launch and it was buggy as hell but I think they eventually got it working pretty well.
I still have it installed on Steam.
Would you be interested in trying it out with me sometime? Hell would we even be able to play together? I'm under the impression that the steam version still uses uplay but not sure if we are able to play together.
I'm glad I bought Farcry 3 on PC. I got Blood Dragon on ps3 when it released but decided not to get Farcry 3 because I felt that BD, while an awesome game, was really shallow. I figured Farcry 3 was just going to be the same but longer and more drawn out so I wouldn't like it. I must say though that's not the case, the story missions are great so far, the side quests are fun diversions and it's awesome to just run around killing goats.

fuck goats
I really want that damn wing suit now.
Steam version requires you to use Uplay . So yeah we can play together also have it on the 360 .
If there is any particular time you want to try and meet up just give me a heads up. Pretty much free all weekend aside from Saturday night when I'm catching a Tough Man Contest in town.
Looks like a Far Cry Compilation game will be coming out 2/11/14 on PS3. Contains Far Cry 2 (with all patches/updates and remastered visuals, Far Cry 3, and long and behold Blood Dragon (on disc!).
The release is for the Far Cry 10 year anniversary, however I didn't see mention of a XB360 release as of yet? I highly recommend you guys try to pick this up as it is full of awesome gameplay, and there should be a slight renew in interest on the map making/ multiplayer side again (since FC has a cult following).
I may even start a dedicated server for FC2 (xb360) with tons of custom maps made by the best mappers in the community (which I gathered over the years of playing), including a weekly meet up if anyone would like to join (4 player min would be nice).
If you can see the future while remembering the past, you may just have control of the present.
Loved FC3 a lot solely for the radio tower, hunting, and base taking aspect. It went down hill for the enemy when I got my hands on a silenced sniper rifle. Head shotted the guys and just kept switching positions. Very satisfying when I got those extra points for no alarms trips and no sightings.

FC2 is certainly not for everyone. The name implies things that you simply can't expect out of the game, and the game includes many mechanics you wouldn't expect from Far Cry. The setting, malaria, gun jams, buddies, factions, weather, complete non-linearity... nothing about this game says "Far Cry." I think the game would have been received better had it been a stand-alone IP.
