I'm playing Rayman Origins on my Wii U via HDMI. I could immediately detect that the game is running interlaced (480i). It's giving me a headache. I tried searching for info on this, but everything on google is just people saying, or assuming, that the game runs at 480p.
My other Wii games run fine and look rock solid at 480p. The interlaced mode of Rayman is obvious. There is flicker, and I can clearly see the lines alternating.
Is there a way to set it to progressive or is this just how the game is? Why does no one over the past four years complain of this?

Re: Rayman Origins 480i? (Wii)
I don't have Rayman Origins (yet), so all I can suggest is that you double-check the video settings on your wii are set to "ED or HDTV mode" in the wii system menu. As far as the wii is concerned, HD simply means progressive scan via component.
Nintendo gives these instructions:
Nintendo gives these instructions:
Nintendo wrote:How to Adjust the TV Resolution
Description:
Step by step instructions on how to adjust the picture resolution transmitted from the Wii Console to the television.
Important Note!
Not all games support progressive scan mode.
The "EDTV or HDTV (480p)" option is not available unless a Wii Component Video Cable is connected to the console.
What to do:
Access System Settings. (How To)
Select "Screen," then "TV Resolution."
Select "EDTV or HDTV (480p)" or "Standard TV (480i)."
Select "Confirm" to save the changes.
Re: Rayman Origins 480i? (Wii)
I suppose I should have mentioned that I am using a Wii U. There are no Wii resolution settings. In a few minutes I am going to try setting the Wii U to 480p and test if this is just a problem with the internal scaler or something.
edit: I tested it at 480p. It still jitters and is obviously interlaced. I immediately tested NSMB Wii, and it looks great, a rock solid progressive signal. So, either Rayman Origins has always been 480i (possible, since the game is 60fps), or there is a bug with it running on the Wii U. I've never tried it on the Wii. It's unplayable for me and gives me eye strain within minutes. The interlace "bounce" is intolerable.

I've got Origins and a Wii U. Never tried it on the Wii U. I could try it and report back if I have the same problem. I suspect it's probably the game and I will though.
