That's gonna piss some people off. The little 80s kid in me can't help smiling though. Rybak supposedly wants to induct him, which could be hilarious

Hope Bryan's okay, there's talk of him having a concussion. I got to see Raw's closing segment, and he brought the house down. Obviously WWE realized there's no way in hell people will accept Bryan being a heel so they dropped the Wyatt angle. Smart move

From Jim Ross on last night's Raw:

"The show closing moments involving Daniel Bryan and Bray Wyatt was reminiscent of the Attitude Era as it relates to raw passion and the fans totally buying into the production.

I said it last night on Twitter @JRsBBQ that Daniel Bryan was the hottest commodity in WWE today....by far. The connection that he's made with the audience, which more often than not, can't be manufactured is priceless.

Daniel Bryan sitting on top of the cage and the sold out crowd chanting Yes! Yes! Yes! was Austin-esque in my eyes. The closing moments of RAW is what one always looks to achieve when formatting a TV show. That special moment that becomes a 'moment.'

Daniel Bryan is a legit bookers dream. Highly skilled and can make anyone that he competes with appear better, no locker room issues or bad, personal habits and he's respectful and reliable. The perfect pro. Good role model for any young talent wanting to succeed."

My copy of the Raw 20th Anniversary Boxed-Set came yesterday.

Tonight I watched an episode from the Attitude Era. Damn what a difference.

What surprised me is that they actually showed the "WWF" logo all over the place and the wrestlers and announcers said "WWF" and "World Wrestling Federation" without being bleeped or silenced. And the production value was a bit lower. You don't notice it, really, because it was upped in such a small amount for such a long period of time. But the Raw looked almost cheaply made, compared to today's WWE productions.

That said, it didn't diminish the entertainment value whatsoever. The promos were better. The feuds were better. The matches were better. The announcers were better. And the over-all-feel had this explosive feeling to it like anything could happen and whatever that anything was, it was going to kick ass.

You see this, of course, in the many DVD documentaries and hand-picked matches from here and there. But when you watch an entire episode of Raw from then, it really evokes and entirely different feel than the WWE of today.

And the audience, oh man, the audience was a riot in itself. They chanted during nearly every match. Like every 3 people in the audience had a sign or logo or something. And the entire time they were charged and on their feet.

I know people think a lot of us jaded wrestling fans are just waxing nostalgic about wrestling in the past. But tonight just solidified it for me, it's not just nostalgia, wrestling truly was something to behold back then. Owen Hart & The Legion of Doom vs. D-X, The Rock vs. Farooq, Stone Cold vs. Austin, Undertaker vs. Kane, and Sunny! Great stuff on this particular episode.

I'm very happy with my purchase. This will provide a bit of viewing for me, for a little while.

Because then it was treated like a sport of some kind, like how boxing is. today its like a circus with all the colors, lights, and music. Wrestling matches look like a choreograph, its too perfect to have a genuine feud feel to it. Just like an acrobatic show

Which episode is this exactly? And who is Stone Cold vs Austin?

I'm sure these two have to be included in that set. Two of the biggest pops ever.

I think I have seen bigger pops .

1) I think it was very low of the WWF to make Mankind win the WWF title by the help of Austin. I personally believe mankind is up there with Hogan, Flair, Undertaker, HBK, Bret, and every one else. As big as Austin is , I think back then Austin was the one who needed some one to put him over Mankind but then Austin was getting the "Cena" treatment and I do not blame the WWF.

The only thing that ruined it for Mick Foley was his multiple personas and especially Dude Love that might have made people not take him seriously at all. Even so, he should be credited for probably being the only wrestler who could pull two very different personas to be top tier levels which are Mankind and Cactus Jack, one is a WWF Legend and the other is a hardcore icon . His Mankind character was very creative including the name I have a feeling it was based on some character in a story of a film we have not seen .

I think that royal rumble when he came in as 3 different personas was funny though, it would be funnier if he won the rumble which everyone knows it is cheating for having 3 chances but then again, it is supposed to be a 3 different people, right?

2) When was this where Austin comes in with a beer truck? Why did it have such a reaction? IIRC , every RAW had Austin marching in like crazy and beating everyone.

Wish I was there for something like that, would have been amazing. And I definelty would be hitting the bar after seeing that, and probably would end in fight being that fired up, lol. But then I would have been 13 years old, so I guess not.

The Mankind match episode is on there, there's a big picture on it on the inner case. I don't think the beer truck episode is, though. This thing spans from 1993 to 2013. So they had to represent all the different eras evenly.
