HG101 came to my mind too. I went and looked, then remembered they don't date when things are posted on the individual articles and the history of front page updates only goes back to April with no Keio in there.

Pretty sure it's been on HG101 for some time. I've been reading the site for years.

Prices are just rising in general.

Yes and no, depends on the game. But Keio is especially notable because it suddenly spiked several times within the last two years, particularly within the last six months.

I've noticed GBA games have been cheaper than usual recently. I put together a list of 50 games that I'd like to get for it in the near future, and I've seen that they're still generally under $15 loose on average, so that's not bad.

Well, I can see that being a bit creeptastic if one is talking about shallow characters that just pander visually like say the DOA volleyball ladies. I can see more developed characters from RPGs or heavier story games when combined with further imagination from those seeds being thought of as attractive.

Heck, with the little bits my mind filled in between what the game gives you, I think Alyx Vance is a very attractive character I'd like to be around if she were real. But of course she isn't, I don't have posters of her everywhere, and I don't 'wish her a good morning' when I get up every day. People that throw 'birthday parties' for some character they like? Some of those pictures that get posted might just be imitators being funny, but at least some probably aren't. They worry me.

Should and do I want to add a Space Invaders cab to my collection? After gas I would be looking at $340 and would need to sell some stuff to come up with the funds. I do think it would get dull and boring but it would go to my mom's and I would basically visit it. She kinda got a little excited because she grew up on Space Invaders although she mainly played Galaxian and Tempest in her late teens.

^Do it.

Also, Hobie, what's wrong with birthday parties for video game characters?

Space Invaders was definitely a huge thing that started the "clear waves of enemies" offshoot of shmups, but I personally don't enjoy playing the original much. The Gal* games made things more interesting with the dive bombing, but took away the stampeding that I never cared for. Later SI iterations are better IMHO, especially the SI Extreme games. I think one would really have to specifically have loved the original SI back in the day to get full enjoyment out of owning a cab of it unless it were joining a collection of them, no matter its place in the history.

I mean the ones like this. I've seen far more elaborate ones, but I'm not searching for them so first hit it is.
