Alright well until someone finds a sealed Slate Gray US version or can 100% confirm that their used one is US and not European, I'm adding it to the list of Memory Cards the US got screwed out of. I believe Japan received the card as Smoke Gray and Europe received it as Slate Gray.

As of now the US did not receive See-Though White and possibly Slate Gray. Technically the US didn't receive Cherry Red either but we did get a memory card that was solid Red like a cherry and it had cherries on the package soooo.......close enough I guess.

Hmmm....this thread makes me realize that I never owned an official PS1 memory card.

I remember having an EA sports one and a plain unlabeled purple one. lol

An amazing find. Original Island Blue with full PCB Board. (They do exists after all) :D
Add it to the list! I assume this is the US version by the looks of it. Anyone have one of these to confirm?

I'd take it then that the bright red one there isn't a US release? Dont tell me where i got it, cause i've bought lots of them used over the years. Probably the last new one I got was back in 1998.

Also, are those color variants you listed; are they because their colors are slightly off? Whats the major difference? Other than the size of the chip inside? The two bluish ones there are kinda different. Is this a variant? Or is one just faded or with sun damage?

Also, I have another question for our fellow RB experts. What do the codes mean on the stickers in the back? Is there a way to tell the manufacturing date of them with these? Or to tell what region? Although it may not matter since all cards work on every ps1! I took a pic of mine anyways for you guys

Also, it looks like there's different back sticker colors on the gray memory cards! Go figure!

My last best guess on who may have your answer OP, on all those ps1 cards is this dude and his website:

http://game-rave.com send him a message?

After all, he is the biggest PlayStation fan!
Also I completely forgot to mention the differences between the stickers on the back of the Gray memory cards.

The black stickers with just the small CE are original launch date memory cards. The cards with the bigger CE are 2nd gen. The cards with the bigger CE and the silver stickers are 3rd gen. and the cards with the silver stickers with the small CE and checkmark N1158 and the last generation of Grays.

The same rules basicly apply for the color memory cards except that the stickers are clear.
