And that's not all...

So that's going to take some work. Only thing that's pissed me off thus far is the end label mostly ripped off (thanks to that sticker on the label). Grrrrrrr.....everything else I can fix up and get rid of, but that end label.......AHHHHHHH. I'll figure it out once I actually clean up the cart.
Goo Gone and rubbing alcohol will take care of that sticker easily. Rubbing alcohol and a tooth brush should remove the marker after some work.
I have Dissolvent, which is basically the same as Goo Gone, so removing that sticker won't be a problem. As for the marker, I've actually been using Chlorox wipes, and most of the marker has been removed. Still some traces of it on the cart but then again, I haven't used a toothbrush yet either, so I'll probably use that later on.
As for the label, I probably won't replace it. I wouldn't replace a label on a SNES cart unless half of it was torn off. I'll look at that link though because if in the event I ever decide to get a flash cart and make my own label, I'll use that as a reference (even though I have a basic 3-in-1 printer).

I know I'm a minority, but I just love this game so much .

What I really wanna do is play through all the DKC games again (for the millionth time) and do 100% of everything. No cheats, at least. I'll use the players guides if I have to though.
I played the series for the first time last year. I used absolutely no outside help, just the original instruction manuals. I believe I got 96% in the first game, 97% in the second, and 103% in the third.
The third game is far more logical in the placement of secrets. It was the most fun for me. I really didn't enjoy the arbitrary placement of secrets in the first game. After I finished the series, I checked a FAQ for one level in the first game that I just couldn't find the secret for. Turns out there is a secret room in a secret room. Yeah, screw that game.

IIRC, you can get more than 100% in each game.
Yeah, the first one has some shitty secret areas. Some that are just frustrating to get. I definitely remember one in particular, that is basically impossible to find on your own.
Speaking of shitty areas, do you guys remember Poisonous Pond in DKC3? It's the one where the controls are reversed, you're underwater, and you have to quickly dodge fish and sea urchins. Fuck that level. INCREDIBLY annoying.

Yeah, I sucked real hard at that when I was younger. It's kind of a fun challenge for me these days tho. I say "kind of" because that level can still be dangerous to controllers.
