No argument there. Any collector who claims they don't resell at some point is a liar or an extreme hoarder. It just comes with collecting. I find condition upgrades all the time and sell off the stuff that no longer has a place in my collection. I also take a chance on beat up "as-is" consoles to refurbish, piece them together with other parts and accessories to make a complete system and find them a new home. It's like a sub-hobby for me. I don't give it away at cost but I don't consult eBay Buy it Now prices either. Whatever I make in profit cycles it's way back into the collection in some way so I don't have to use my income for games. Still, I'm sure a lot of people out there may pile me in the douchebag reseller category simply based on the fact that I buy stuff I have no intention of keeping just to sell off at a profit.

I think the common annoyance is the guys who have no idea what the games are or any interest in them outside of putting them on eBay for the highest possible price. At the end of the day, I don't care that someone bought something before I got to it and just sells it off for whatever reason but it annoys the shit out of me to someone grab every single game of the shelf w/o even looking at them, pile them into an overflowing cart, and sit down in a chair to look everything up on eBay before deciding to buy.

The debate about reselling games has seen life numerous times in this thread so it's pointless to rehash it but I was only commenting on how a couple of stores have those particular types of resellers.

( storino03...I recognize that name  Love the videos, man )

There's a huge experience difference between buying, not liking a game, and reselling it later, and going around stores buying up stock merely in order to sell for a profit. The two really aren't comparable.

Yeah..... Only games I've ever "resold" are duplicates that I acquired from a craigslist lot or whatever. I've never "flipped" a video game. Don't ever plan to.

I go to yard sales every chance I get during the season. I scoop up every game I find that's under a buck. The ones I want, I keep. The ones I don't, I trade/sell to get games I want. What does that make me?

Well, if you were in Colorado, buying up games that I want, that would make you a dirty, filthy, thieving reseller.

But since you're not in Colorado, you're just a collector actively financing your collection.

cha cha wrote:Dunno where else to put this, but Big Lots is clearancing out all their video games from the local stores in WNY, can't get solid info if this is nationwide yet. All games are on sale at 50% off the $18.88 they were normally at, then clearanced at an additional 30% off.

I picked up- Yakuza: dead souls ps3, LucheLibre ps3, Dead Island Goty ed. 360, 2 different Professor Laytons DS, Rage collectors edition 360 and ME3 ps3 all for $7 each, brand new.

They had other stuff like Batman Arkham City, Dead Space 2, Bunches of Kinect games and a bunch of generic sports and licensed movie titles.

Not the best deals in the universe, and most budget titles to begin with. Might be worth checking out for some who are in close proximity to Big Lots.

Happy Hunting! Report if this is indeed a nationwide thing? (I hear they do this every so often, say they are ditching all games, then 3 months later start carrying them again)
Thanks for the heads up!
I went to a Big Lots in southern CA and only found a 30% off sign. Not a great selection, but there are a couple might be worth getting. Some of the games had zerox copies as covers in an empty case, past purchases leads me to believe the original is behind the cash register. Most were the standard $18.88 price before the markdown, but some of the games were stickered at $10.00 so that would only be seven bucks!

I'll keep an eye out on other locations, maybe if I buy a game the system wil kick out the additional 50% off? Seen it happen before when a price changer has not kept up on the price stickers.

Went to a swap meet last Thursday when I had a bit of time to kill before going to my grandpa's house for breakfast, mostly because it was no charge and I had roughly an hour before I had to leave. Only brought 20 bucks thinking I wasn't going to get much, then I got this:

Rush 2 was 5 dollars. Ken Griffey Jr Presents Major League Baseball was 3 dollars (it was the only SNES game I saw there), and the PSOne was 10 bucks. Sadly no controller, but, I couldn't resist picking up that version of the PSOne for 10 bucks. I'll look for a controller this upcoming week if I go back to the swap meet. Same with a memory card too.
