The MvC games are what I'm looking at. Generally not that much cheaper than the US counterparts, but cheap enough to be enticing. I don't have them yet, and I'm concerned about the upcoming price hike.
I say YES. True, the price difference between different region MvC1 isn't that major (not as much as MvC2 in some cases), but there are perks for playing MvC1 import. Some US early batches of the game doesn't support VGA. Imoprt release is uncensored and has added ability to remove the game's annoying flash.

By the way, is your DC able to play imports? If not go for either a cheats n' codes boot disc or if you got some spare cash ask fellow member "jinn" to mod your console. The guy does terrific work.

Just finally getting into DC!? Well better late than never I suppose. Seriously, you just recently got the console and you already have those games you've listed!? I'd say your off to a good start already. Just lay back and enjoy the selection you already have in your possession. Those are some good games to experience on the system ;)

I already have:
Crazy Taxi
Rush 2049
MvC 2
Chu Chu
Rally 2
NBA Showtime
Sonic Adventure
Soul Calibur
You already have a good start.

I would try Skies of Arcadia if you want a RPG.

2k2 Sports games are my favorites on the Dreamcast. NBA 2k2 in particular.

If you are a casual fighting fan, MvC2 should be enough. But if you are more hardcore in that genre, you might want to go more in depth with Street Fighter Alpha, SNK Fighters, etc.

You can always burn the games CDs from ISOs online to try out a certain game before you buy.

Ha, wow, thanks. Definitely getting imported versions, then.

I may ask jinn for a modchip. I thought DCs weren't able to play imports unless they were burns?

You can play imports on a Dreamcast with just a simple bootdisc (which of course, can be downloaded and burned to save you buying one of Ebay or another site). The best one without a shadow of a doubt is DC-X. I haven't come across a single game it will not play. Most of the other bootdiscs won't work with Fire Pro Wrestling D or D2 when you get to the end of a disc and need to swap to the next one. DC-X works with both of those games though.

You also don't necessarily need a modchip either as it's possible to install a new bios chip and then flash it with the region free hacked bios. See here: http://www.mmmonkey.co.uk/sega-dreamcas ... free-bios/

The DC-X bootdisc is all you need. It runs my one Japanese import (DDR 2nd Mix) and my one European import (Shenmue 2) flawlessly.

I kind of wanted a seamless experience, not have to keep putting a disc in. I'll see how it goes, though, and if the disc swapping isn't so bad, I may hold off on getting a modchip.

I'll be picking up the whole line up of 2K2 games. I'm not a big NBA fan thought. NFL is what I'm looking forward to the most. I'll certainly be burning games like Giga Wing 2, Cannon Spike and Powerstone for a while.
