Re: Random Gaming Thoughts
Technically it does, but when you actually begin fighting the camera essentially always moves back to the default and makes it pointless to have a controllable camera.

NARC reboot?! WHAT?! I can only imagine *facepalm*. The Spy Hunter reboot got some mixed reviews from what I saw. I was interested in the Defender reboot for GBA, actually.BoneSnapDeez wrote:I've been playing Midway's 6th gen Defender reboot and I just found out there are more of these games:
These any good?

I kinda enjoyed that Spy Hunter reboot, it wasn't too bad.

It'll continue existing.oxymoron wrote:What will happen to retro collecting when everything goes digital?

But how are you going to have a room filled with 1000's of games when everything that's considered retro is digital only ?o.pwuaioc wrote:It'll continue existing.oxymoron wrote:What will happen to retro collecting when everything goes digital?

Just because the new stuff is digital doesn't mean the old stuff disappears.oxymoron wrote:But how are you going to have a room filled with 1000's of games when everything that's considered retro is digital only ?o.pwuaioc wrote:It'll continue existing.oxymoron wrote:What will happen to retro collecting when everything goes digital?
Re: Random Gaming Thoughts
I think oxy is suggesting that you eventually wouldn't be able to collect games for a hypothetical future system with an all digital library.
For example, if the current gen systems were all digital (obviously they're not, but if), 10 years from now when they're "retro" and no longer available you wouldn't be able to buy games for them.
To answer the question, I'm sure they'll exist to be repurchased on some network as we do now, and like now you'll be at the mercy of whatever companies are releasing them and what titles they choose to make available.
Which is to say, retro collecting will just be limited to the same stuff we collect now, which as o.p said, isn't going anywhere.
You're looking way in the future though.

Re: Random Gaming Thoughts
It doesn't bother me, since I won't be "collecting" anything from PS3 era on anyway. I have trouble believing that someone 20 years from now will give a shit about any digital games released these days.
Re: Random Gaming Thoughts
Why is that? There have been plenty of excellent digital-only games the past generation - in fact some of the best experiences one could have were digital only. I think people would give a shit if those games were not accessible in any way whatsoever 20 years from now...Zing wrote: I have trouble believing that someone 20 years from now will give a shit about any digital games released these days.
