Today was one of the really good days I wish would happen more often. I have been hounding my boss for a while about bringing in the N64 & games he says he would give me for free because his kids don't play it anymore. He retired today and finally brought in all this stuff. I didn't feel right just taking it because I was only going to pick out a few games and rehome the rest so I offered him $20 and he was more than elated with that.

As part of my daily routine, I stopped by the Savers close to work and I was shocked to find a boxed Golf for the NES. Not the greatest game but the box is in great shape and is a major upgrade to the torn up one I have. 1st time I've ever found a boxed NES game at a thrift store. I then found 4 N64 controllers ($6 each) (probably belong to the one I bought yesterday), an N64 AV cord, and a Gamecube controller ($6). So, I continued to make my way around the store and in an old dusty cardboard box I stumble upon a frickin' Colecovision. Holy crap, did that ever make my day. I have never owned or even played one before and it was one of the last few systems I have on my want list. Sadly, the power cord is shot but it was only $8 and it's actually very clean and in great shape otherwise. I made a 2nd trip around the store hoping to find more boxed NES games or some Colecovision games but no luck. I did find Sonic Heroes (which I have been looking out for) and Jet Grind Radio for Dreamcast as well as Brain Age for the DS ($3 each).

So, from there I hit another thrift store and picked up a back-up DS Lite for $10- *bonus* It had a copy of Mario Kart DS in it. Also, saw an NES behind the counter and thought -"What the hell, can never have too many!" So, I asked the clerk to take if I could take a look at the yellowed beast and just laughed at the price. They had the games and cords in the back and figured if there was something like Snow Brothers in the bunch it's a good deal. The games were Mario/Duck Hunt, Mario 3, and some other shit game that is so insignificant that I already forgot what it was. Sadly, I'm sure some moron will buy it OR an employee intentionally priced it really high with the intent of lowering it later to buy for themselves.

Had to drive halfway across town in rush hour traffic, but I got a mint condition Ys I & 2 Chronicles Premium Edition for $20. It literally looks like it was unwrapped and then never even opened. The included CD is still sealed. Been wanting to get into Ys and I couldn't resist the deal.

Checking this out but the guy has little to no information listed :P. Doubt his prices will be reasonable but it will be interesting to see his list.

I'm incredibly jealous of you guys with awesome pawn shops/thrift shops/yard sale markets. They all suck around here. But, of course, I haven't checked in a long time so it may have changed.
