I've always been a Nintendo fan, but recently, i gained much interest in the megadrive. i currently live in Japan, and i would like to know which games you recommand i buy for the system. I'm open to most genres, main thing i like is excellant music and good 2d sprites.
thank you very much for your help

While you're in Japan, pick up Alien Soldier by Treasure. It's a fun game that's not available stateside. I have only ever played this game via emulation. Fun times. I wish I could find the cartridge.

This is a solid list. Also it's Bare Knuckle not burningninjainspandex wrote:My tops are

There are loads of other fantastic shmups, many of which Japan only, if you're into them.
I'd particularly add:
Musha Aleste (rocking music)
Ex-Ranza (rocking graphics)

Oops confused it with burning fight on the neo geo
Btw toktugul is looking for the more affordable megadrive games. So alien soldier and musha are probably out of his price range.

Wow, I didn't realize Musha Aleste had jumped so much in recent years, used to be an affordable alternative to the US release.

Re: Need your inputs: games for japanese megadrive
To be honest with you, I have no idea what Megadrive games cost in Japan. I have to vague notion that some cheap US cartridges (ie Batman Forever an Justice League) are mondo expensive in Japan, and that other Mega Drive cartridges are cheap, but I don't know a good place to look up that data. Is there a japanese equivalent to VGPC? Otherwise I'm just stabbing in the dark.ninjainspandex wrote:Btw toktugul is looking for the more affordable megadrive games.
