My GBASP has a 2 and 7/8ths inch screen (diagnally), and my DS Lite has a 3 inch screen. So there you go.weasels wrote:im confused but im pretty sure the sp has a smaller screen. but then agian i dont have a ds anymore.........arion wrote:actually i have a ds but i figure i might pick up gba sp for a bigger screen

The GBA is amazing and has some of the best games around, but the DS can play all those games. It just lacks the reverse compatibility with GB and GBC games and can't connect to the GBA apparatuses. The DS is the solid choice, as long as it's not a DSi. (no reverse compatibility)

Answer!: I love playing GBA games on my 2nd edition GBASP. The first one had a front light, which definitely helps. But they released a 2nd edition right before they ceased production on them and went full force with the DS. This GBASP has a truly backlit screen just like the DS. If you look at the barcode on the back of the actual Gameboy it will either say AGS-101 or AGS-001. Try to the get the 101, it has the truly backlit screen. the 001 is the older model, which while still totally awesome, it doesn't display colors as vibrantly. I must now return to my cavern of nerdliness and ponder my life. Hope this is helpful.

I'd get a Gameboy Micro personally. However, I already have a GBA and a DS plus DS Lite. I do want to get a Gameboy Micro... although I'm not entirely sure why...
So erm... get an erm Lynx?

Oh yeah I forgot about the micro. That thing looked freakin awesome, albiet maybe a little to small for my manly manly hands...they're manly. I'll probably just get a ds. Seems like the easy option with it's larger screen and selection of new games.Niode wrote:I'd get a Gameboy Micro personally. However, I already have a GBA and a DS plus DS Lite. The only way to deactivate the ray beam and fight back the vampire alien threat is with a complicated series of foot patterns on the device's control board that looks remarkably like a DDR pad. We will all praise this man for saving our lives and buy him a mountain of stuffed animals.

On topic though, I have a DS fat, but prefer playing GBA games on my GB Micro, and did prefer my GBA SP when I had it. Micro is tiny, but the screen isn't hard to see at all, and is noticeably brighter than the DS fat screen. Can cause thumb cramps after 20-30 minutes though, since the buttons are so tiny and close together. Better battery life on the Micro than the DS, too.
