Unfortunately, no. I have the game's case and manual, but I still purchased it used. I wish I did have the stylus, however, because my DS Lite is currently missing one.

(Also, Shinobi (3DS) is great, and you should pick it up. It is not much of an RPG, however. )

I am continuing on in Lagoon. I've now defeated Doma, a boss who changes into a giant head and hands to fight me. The first two boss fights weren't that interesting, but since then, the game has ramped up the difficulty. I'm now saved in a place called Gnome Tree, which I believe puts me about 2/3 of the way through the game, and my character is level 25. Hopefully I'll get to finish this one this week.

Playing Dark Souls and drinking beer.

The fucking frogs in The Depths are driving me insane.

I hate those shits. The only part where I thought the game was just being cheap.

I started Final Fantasy IX earlier and made good progress up to Lindblum. It has a bit of a slow opening but picks right up once you escape the forest.

Zidane is cool. I like how Squaresoft realised that having three moody teen protagonists in a row might be a bit much.
I want my own Vivi, he is adorable and useful.
Steiner I can give or take at the moment, but I'm sure he will be one of the most useful characters.
Dagger is good as a character but weak in battle. I hope she can learn some aggressive magic later on otherwise she's getting ditched.

Don't have a full grasp on the plot yet, but I am enjoying the throwbacks to "Classic" FF in the character design and musical motifs.

Dagger gets some beastly attack magic later in the game, so I recommend you keep her in the party and leveled up.

Will do. She is useful for healing of course, but it's that old white mage problem of spending 80% of their time using piss weak attacks or hitting defend for the first 10-15 hours.

I sometimes name Dagger as Garnet.

I did that in my playthrough. It made for some amusing dialog at one point.

I personally didn't use Dagger, Vivi or Steiner on the run I beat the game in. They're definitely all good characters, but I felt the next 3 available to you made for a more interesting party in terms of attack options.

I hate the 8th character of FFIX though, he's awful.

If you mean Amarant, I think I used him against Ozma (or maybe just the Fat Chocobo) the way I would use any good ninja: Chuckwagon-ing.
