Wow noise that's weird. It's like we got the snes version of mortal kombat while Japan got the genesis version.
You can thank Agetec for the US censored release. Ultimately, who gives a shit! Blood or or no blood, its a solid port outside Neo hardware of perhaps one the greatest fighters ever made. Recently purchased the JPN exclusive port of Last Blade compilation on PS2 simply to finally clear up the rumors of game being manhandled on the platform. The game runs horribly. I couldn't beleive how bad considering how well SnKP handled the majority of the Neo Geo Online Catalog in Japan. I hug my DC copy of LB2 with even more now...

I never played it back then, but when the best graphics on the market was PSX and GTA3 was still not out, graphics was all the rage, and you get Shenmue ... it makes the top of the list for me.

Some parts are very boring and controls are awkward, but we have to compare it to its competitors back then.
Lets be honest here, there were plenty of people who thought Shenmue was boring when it came out. There's a reason why GTA took off.

I understand , but I think it might at least was amazing to experience . What 3D open world game looked that good when it came out? It is also a very unique gaming experience, unlike the zillion JRPGS you cant play Shenmue and mistake it for another game.

Yes, it was boring at a lot of time and slow but its very iconic too. I am not fan of it and almost quit on the game, I just played it because everyone has it on the "Top Dreamcast Games" list

Haven't played Shenmue yet. Only for an hour and I stopped. It seems like a game that requires several hours to get into.

Every thing else in Shenmue 2 is awesome though. I loved how you felt much more 'on your own' and vulnerable in the game.
Yeah, if you thought "oh cool, no jobs in Hong Kong, I got it made" well, you're in for a surprise. High action and no warm up racing either..... YOU'RE MOVING FREAKING BOOKS! (but hey, no having to run back to the house every night either!)
I forgot the worst bit too... The whole thing is bloody QTEs!!! Hold down right trigger, press left or right at appropriate moments. That's it! It's so easy and mundane it makes me wonder what the point was. It doesn't matter how kickass I am at moving those books either, there's always more books to move the next day. God dammit.

Shenmue is awesome though. Seriously, those games are so engrossing and damn good. Honestly, I never found them boring at all (apart from the dreaded above section from Shenmue 2).

Better or worse than Neo Geo Battle Coliseum?

Anyway, you guys should play more Dreamcast horror games. Resident Evil 2, Resident Evil 3, Resident Evil: Code Veronica, D2, Carrier, Alone in the Dark: The New Nightmare, Blue Stinger, Illbleed, Dino Crisis...some great stuff on there.

@Ack, Blue Stinger is pretty underrated I think. I really liked that one. And it's sistergame, Illbleed is def even better with its crazy horrorflicks within a themepark motif. Really cool and interesting games.

But once you're done with the books for the day, you have things to do. You're not stuck at the harbor talking to strangers.

One thing I remember is going through the series of abandoned buildings later in the game, and finding a probably hidden AM2 capsule toy machine at the very top of one with holes in the floor all around you  One false step and you'll have to get up there again, but rare toys!!!! I spent a lot of time there completing the Outrigger collection.

True, although I did like all those fights you got into at the harbour.

And I found that hidden AM2 toy machine too. It was awesome finding that  I also remember there being a secret one of those fights you could do? You know, where you'd bet you could beat someone? My memory is hazy...
